If the Mets can put together a AAA caliber bullpen, they can definitely secure a WC spot.
My buddy has high blood pressure and I have anxiety issues. This can't continue.
I can envision a future post-all-star game in which a rested Garrett (and I think rest is hugely important for Garrett at this point ... seems like he pitches almost every game), Nunez, and Diaz form a more than credible 7-8-9 trio. If Maton can be a reasonable middle innings guy, that could go a long way toward firming things up. Add Butto and Howser as long men ... non't the worst bullpen. But if they want to be real competitors, they need to add a couple of strong arms to that pen. A legit set up guy, who could bump Nunez down to more of a 7th inning guy, would go a long way toward helping things fall into place. Not sure that is in the cards, though. I do think Reid-Foley could help a lot if he gets healthy.
The fact that Alonso has contributed nothing to our success in the past month and still makes it to the all-star game is pathetic. Lindor and Nimmo deserve it so much more.
Sort of agree. Alonso hasn't hit in the past couple of weeks, but he got some key hits against Chicago, Texas, and Houston. He started slumping the same time JD did. But yeah... it should be Nimmo and/or Lindor... but no one voted for them. Bader and Marte (yes starling marte) had more all-star votes than Lindor and Nimmo wasn't even in the picture. Alonso had the most votes on the whole team and it wasn't by much at all. We just don't show up to support our players and if we don't, no one else surely will. It's the Mets, after all. Lol.

Pete's more than a stick. Alonso eats more dirt at 1st than any 1st baseman in the league. Haven't seen a big guy like him doing layouts to take darts from 3rd, short & 2nd since the great Boog Powell. It's not his fault he got voted onto the team, it's the voters who are pathetic.

Lindors been on fire and the mets need bullpen help desperately.
The bullpen hasn't been reliable since before deGrom was a rookie. Somehow he managed to win a Cy Young with more No Decisions than Wins.
That was because the Mets offense was non-existent in games that DeGrom pitched in. Not because our bullpen sucked.
Mets gave up 5 runs in two innings with their bullpen actually unreal. They need some serious help Jesus.
They won because i couldn't watch them. Whenever I do get to watch they get blown out. LETS GO METS ❤

This lineup is great top to bottom. Lindor and Nimmo should be all stars. Bader is a hit machine. JD and Alonso have immense raw power. Baby Mets are the future. Yet the fking bullpen keeps making it hard to win games. Fix it before we fall out of the wild card race

Mets need to score 15 runs per game to have a slight chance of winning ballgames. Mets higher up best get some bullpen help and fast. Get a couple of great relievers in a trade for alonso and marte.
This pitching staff is not doing it well enough. It's a major problem. Haven't we got anyone in triple a that’s good enough to help out. This team needs to establish a good winning streak. Playing the subpar teams is the key to doing this.
I say the Mets trade the entire bullpen for Nolan Ryan. Trade Alonso, McNeil, Taylor, Stewart for Bobby Bonilla and some good NY pizza.

I watched the game…he yelled at him from the dugout but didn’t do much more, probably for the better because he was there to call Diaz in when Garrett in relief once again gave up a homer. Also ump should’ve told Abrams he needs to move and not let him walk. Lastly, the ball barely BARELY grazed him. They showed the slow mo on the broadcast. That and the fact he made no attempt to move should’ve been enough for the ump to tell him no walk on hbp.
I think the Surgeon General should issue a Health Warning to Mets fans that remains in affect for the remainder of the season, which says," WARNING: Watching NY Mets games when the Starting pitcher has been releived by the bullpen is dangerous to your health. You will be subject to a strong possibility of suffering a heart attack, stroke or Mental Breakdown.

A win is a win, but the Mets bullpin is trash 🗑! They need to make some trades ASAP. Also, Lindor got robbed out of the all-star team. He's been the most consistent player on the Mets. Alonzo is hit or miss!
