When I went to their concert with Volumes and Crown the Empire on May 7th, afterwards, my friend & I sat outside of the fence in front of the tour buses (in hopes of meeting a few band members, which we did haha), and there was this girl there sitting by herself. My friend & I decided to sit with her, considering she was waiting there for the same reason we were. Anyway, she started talking to us about how she is a recovering drug addict. She told us how she saw Of Mice & Men live before but never met Austin. Alan told her, "you know, the band and I, especially Austin, hate seeing our fans struggle. Stay strong." Those few words helped her recover.
That night, she met Austin, looked him in the eyes, and said, "Thank you."
She started venting to him about everything and cried. He took her head into his chest and let her cry on him while whispering "It'll be okay" in her ear.
I almost cried when I saw that.

As much as I love Aaron's voice in their new album, nothing can replace Shayley's raw emotion in these songs...his voice was an amazing pair to Austin's screams.

i’m so blessed to have seen this era live. wish i took a photo cuz the memory is gettin blurry. will never forget austin’s booming power and the band playing so hard that their fans were sending themselves to the medical tent. they played this and someone snapped their leg in half. i felt the bass in my bones watching from the stage next to them. they played after the used, they watched the used with us taking notes and then played twice as hard. consider this: the used caused a wall of death, and OM&M went harder than THAT. probably the best metal performance at that warped tour tbh.
The last clean part related to me a lot. I remember when I used to get shivers listening to that part at a struggling time in my life. I still get shivers and I'm improving myself as a person :) Love songs I can relate to. It helps me find meaning in my life and find who I truly am. Thanks OM&M and Metalcore in general.. ^^
It goes from ridiculously heavy and deep, to tear-jerking, emotional, and just plain amazing. This may be the best song on the album. And the lyrics are so deep, and prove that Austin will never be the asshole he was, and will forever stay the amazing person he is. And Shay, he just fucking kills it at the end. There is no way they could've made the outro any better. This song is so perfect.

Clayton Kelly new Of Mice and Men is still good though. They just have a lot more vocals, which is good. They include Aaron more in the band, and the beats are different. Of course they're gunna change a bit because they're gotten older and matured, so just like they change, their music does. c:
Well I liked when Shaley was in the band but now Aaron is singing the clean vocals so i guess it's just something people have to accept haha. And yes, i have actually. Yes, they have clean vocals but compare The Flood to Restoring Force, and it sounds like Of Mice and Men changed genres.

ive listened to this and loved it for many many months and that was before i relised the lyrics and how it genuinely relates to me and many so much and not just the literal meaning, 'scared of the world' sums up the thoughts of millions of people at the moment with the world aswell as addiction, depression and disharmony. i love you om&m
