I love this video format! I agree with you about the similarity with iphones. My fifty year old father lives android but has an iphone because of their better looks and simplicity. Although there are a lot of cons, that's just the way to go fot most people! Again, loved the review so much! Keep up with the good work!

From what I've seen and heard, repairing the device is a menace. Also the updates are extremely slow compared to competitors with android 13 slated for Q1 or Q2 of 2023, while most other companies are putting out within the year.

Atleast it still gets updates. I have a Google pixel 3a and it lags alot and stopped having updates a few months ago
@@ziethup1992 it’s a midrange phone with the best mid-range processor. Snapdragon 778g is not a speed demon but it’ll do everything fairly well for your average person. SD778g is also one of the more power efficient chips so I expect good battery life from this device. I would be interested in a flagship version tho with a SD 8 gen 1 and better cameras.
@@deleqtronica8733 it lags while you swipe your home screens.. imagine you have to deal with that on a 500 dollar phone..with the same price there is a lot more better options, just without the led and transparent back..

Any repair , like battery replacement is a nightmare, due to the all the LED strips removal

@@ronlevin2339 I mean. Youre charging habits constitute what life and endurance of the battery in the device. With that being said, the device is still new, not even 2 months old. Look up disassembly vids if its a contributing factor in your buying decision. If not then just shoot for another device. That simple.
Ron, i think ahead when buying My phones, and this is why i Do buy only iPhones. I want my phones to last while still having the latest phone OS. An iPhone will last me, 7 years? Currently have an XS and am not planning on switching anytime soon. I’ll probably switch in like 3 years if not longer depending on how long the phone is still supported with the latest OS.
Samsung gives around 2 to 4 years with OS Support and almost all other brands give just 2. I don’t want to be stranded with last year’s OS.
Plus when it comes down to repairability, don’t forget that Apple scores a 6/10 or 7/10 on the repairability score depending on the iPhone on ifixit and most other phones score a 4/10 or lower with only the pixel often having a 6/10 as well and only phones like the fairphone scoring higher.
My point is, if you wanna think ahead, the iPhone definitely Isn’t a phone you want to count out. All it does is make you look ignorant and a tad hypocritical

I decided to buy it, switching to it from a Samsung A40. It's a joy to use, and with recent updates, the camera has gotten a lot better.
Also, it's possible to set custom notification sounds for apps (and even conversations) already. However, you set that from the "Apps" menu, not the one where you set the notification sounds in general.
Yea, but you cant put custom glyph patterns for specific apps.
@@ChadTvFun You can, as long as you also change the notification sound. I should know, I did that and it works.
I also switched from a A40 to the Nothing phone and I really like it!
Seen the phone in person, nothing special. If iPhone did this everyone would forget about this phone in a heartbeat. The look of it is cool but honest who is gonna be looking at the back of their device that much.
Honestly not to hate on the company. More competition is always a great thing. But I have little doubt that anyone already invested in any of the big names (i.e samsung,Google and especially apple) has any real reason to switch full time to this phone. It's novel, but outside of looks, I don't really see anything special about it. Even if nothing came out with a flag ship device, I heavily doubt people would give up their apple/samsung ecosystems just for it.
*Plus they don't sell it in the states :(

@@jheads5371 yeah totally agree, I have apple for their ecosystem alone. Very simply and easy to use compared to android which to me is very lacklustre when it comes to features and ecosystem.

I think the backlighting looks nice but is actually pretty damn useless. I never place my phone on the table upside down. The display is always up. How about they just implemented it in the software for the OLED display instead? They could've had limitless potential there, now it's just flashing lights on the side of the phone that's hidden underneath it.

@@einstijn138 Most people place their phones back facing up on the table? I don't really think so. I know only one person that does so because of the pop socket. Everyone else does the way I do, the lights would be hidden. I don't want to scratch the display with sand or debris there is on the table or whatever surface I place my phone on top of.

It costs around 37,000 INR and about 460 USD

It's miles better than the old 700 series
And it's way more power efficient than the 8 Gen 1 or 888

@@rezza_f1re I have a phone with a snapdragon 855, 8 gigs of RAM and I can’t run that game maxed out high graphics with max frame rate without the phone getting *very* hot. It’s capable of doing it but it scares me when phone gets that hot 😔

Phone Repair Guru, I seek your wisdom! I have a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and after about a year, the stock screen protector is detaching at the hinge. Have you dealt with this phone at all? I want to remove it and replace it, but I don't want to damage the screen at all and I'm not sure which brand I should replace it with. Follow up: I have a case on it that has little adhesives that hold the case on, and now I'm worried that might not come off so easy and I'm hoping I can replace the protector without removing the case.
I had the same issue last week took it into Samsung after booking a repair slot it was fixed in half an hour without charge and is good as new
