You are right and wrong at the same time!! We must always follow, represent and promote our cultures and traditions as much as possible but must never look down upon others’ cultures with the words like ‘Crazy Stuff’!! Just the way our traditions and cultures are special and close to our hearts, everyone else’s cultures and traditions are dear to them!! If we expect the world to recognise and respect our traditions then we must also respect theirs (maybe not follow or recognise but never look down upon - that’s the bare minimum)
And if people start with the argument that when they do not respect our traditions then why should we?? Then my answer is - that is the greatness of our culture that we follow our culture and respect others, which they might not do but that proves the dignity of our culture and if we loose that dignity with stubborn arguments like when they don’t respect, why should we? That means we are degrading our cultures and teachings which have always taught us to respect others!! It’s not their loss it’s ours because in the pretext of defending our traditions and cultures, somewhere down the line we ourselves are disrespecting our own values which is nowhere a promotion of our culture!!
So if we really want to follow and promote our culture and traditions, we must respect others’ traditions and cultures too regardless of whether they reciprocate or not!! That is what a true Hindu or a true Indian would do - TRUE INDIAN = Never forgets to respect others or other cultures and traditions
