  • While it feels that life has been put on hold around the world, our world seems to be changing faster than we could have imagined only months ago. Leadership at times like this is challenging and is needed as never before. The questions as to who we can trust and what is trustworthy resurface with a new edge to them.

    21:17 Q&A
21:46 How can we as leaders keep a vision of the future at the forefront when the adaptive challenges we are leading in, move us into uncharted territory?
26:42 “We cannot reach the stars, but we can be guided by them.” In this pluralistic context, what does it mean when people look to different stars to be guided by? What does it mean as a leader in Canada today where people share a number of different values to provide leadership and yet look to something concrete to guide us in leadership decisions?
30:12 In our current political environment the likelihood of electing a humble person, who acknowledges dependance on God for their wisdom seems very remote from a human perspective. How can we move forward in this environment?
33:11 God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh for hardening his heart. I'm not seeing a lot of repentance. How many more plagues should we expect?
36:30 Do you think that increased racism is a result of the COVID lockdown? How can Canadian leaders address the increased discrimination against Chinese Canadians as a result of the pandemic? How should we as leaders respond to the Black Lives Matter movement?
40:00 I’m impressed with how Moses was so humble, even though he was such a great leader. Pride is such a struggle for those of us in leadership. How do you cultivate humility?
42:53 Regarding the cynicism you mentioned, many leaders we know are asked to put on a face of confidence and hope. But even in the midst of the cynicism-not just publicly held, but also even behind closed doors-in terms of political leadership as our leaders are struggling to figure out a course forward. What does it look like to give hope as a leader in a time like this?
46:03 What would be your takeaway for us as we think about the busyness in this season and how to create space to think about these bigger questions? What takeaway is there for us who have so much going on? And yet if we want to be thinking about what it looks like to become an adaptive leader who can give hope to people in a time like this?
