Hey egg, random tip for industrial.If you zone 2x4/3x4 the are warehouse.They could be used.Some are 4x4 but you can’t really force them.All 3x4/2x4 are warehouses.They could look cool in your type of industrial detailing. Edit : Just remember that one of the Japan packs with buildings (Not trains) have offices that could be like halls and administrative for the town.There are ones for towns and Cites.They could be a cool feature but some are a bit too big.If you want to you can add them.You don’t have to but they would be a nice addition though.

So excited about this new city!! Answering the Question of the Episode: a green belt integrated tram system would be great! Very signature Egg and a bit of a throwback to Palaven
I'm putting my vote in for subways/metro! If you plan to eventually have the downtown where you want it, it would not be unbelievable for a metro line to reach out to this initial suburb, and it would be a very modern approach to metro design with a big interchange station at the highway exit to incentivize people to park and ride into the city. Since you did not use metro as much as you used trains in Orchid Bay, I think it would be interesting to see you use metros as your commuter trains! You could take some inspiration from the MTA's Metro North that uses trains similar to the in-game metro ones.
I was thinking the same thing, basically. Would like to see a focus on light rail, which in game terms would likely be done with metro - metro as commuter trains.

I'm really loving this build! Specially the forestry brush selection! I think it would be really cool to have the Tram run down between the couplets, it would also be super fancy if you switched to the Monorail once you cross the river to give a more futuristic side, specially if you're going to have a Night Life neighborhood. But whatever you choose i think it'll be really cool!
I kinda like the notion of a monorail to make it a little more "City of tomorrow" vibes but also pedestrian tram roads probably allow you to add more activity between the couplet so might be the better idea for giving more options going forward.

A Trolleybus Rapid Transport line would be great running through the couplet, maybe linking in with a tram line that makes its way through to the downtown across the river? So happy to see this new series, starting strong!
I own CS1 on PC and PlayStation with all DLC and content creator packs. And I STILL prefer to watch you create. I even showed your vids to my 78-year-old dad, and he enjoyed them too. There is just something about your methodology that I love.
Didn’t know how I would carry on without Orchid Bay 😢 so I am so excited for more CS1 content and a new city! It feels so strange starting a city from scratch again after so long 😂
I'm so happy that you started another vanilla city! It helps me to heal my gloomy feelings about CS2. I think a tram between the main roads should look great. What do you think about putting back Neon Raceway by ELFL for a couple of episodes to the detailing timelapses? It reminds me of early Orchid Bay, nice memories. :)

I think Savannah Georgia is a great example of a sizable city with medium density elements and old world charm and I think that would integrate into the city
I'd say one of the pedestriam tram roads from plazas dlc to start, later flanked either side by monorail once the city grows, with tree lines either side to separate it from the one-way roads
I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this video drop after the ending of orchid bay. I'm very excited for this series! I just know it'll look nothing short of fantastic!
From a geometric/symmetric point of view, a monorail is probably the best shout for the couplet, since there's a 1 tile gap in the middle, and I'm pretty sure monorail tracks are 1 tile wide. That being said (and this would be a waste of nodes I'm sure), a two-way bus system could be done, meeting up with the pedetrian bus roads kinda like you did with the trams in Orchid Bay. Where you have two opposite flowing bus-only ramps meeting up at Pedetrian Roads for the stations. I know it's twice the nodes, but my OCD wouldn't allow me to build that asymmetrically lol.
i would love to see a slightly sunken monorail between the couplet, maybe a raised cycling network and pathway next to it too! so exciting to see how Rannoch grows 🤩 was expecting to wait longer for another cs1 series but I'm most definitely not complaining 😂 thank you Egg for blessing us with a new series ❤
Great to see you back with a Cities vanilla build. I would vote for a monorail, just because it's unique and the ego-stroking project a narcissistic city planner on a power trip would have. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Robert Moses, but he essentially made NYC the city it is today (and arguably said narcissistic city planner on a power trip). I can imagine the cim incarnation of him having a house at the waterfront along the bay; overlooking the bridge he designed and flanked on either side by the public beach park and the monorail he built. And as you're visiting his house, you are struck with the realization that you are surrounded by all the monuments he has carved to himself, so he could build the perfect house with the perfect view.

Great start to the new series! My vote would be if it's completely possible: metro ground-level down the middle and one way trams on each side of the tracks!
I think depending on the vision for the type of zoning etc, it makes sense to have a buss or tram going down with the couplet, and then have a metro or a another high density transport going on the bend towards the down town. Having a grounded metro in the transport hub which then elevates gives the layers of hights we're always looking for. Maybe we could add trains later down the line too as some sort of first stop into the larger downtown and city, sort of like Sundbybergs trainstation in Stockholm.

The wider couplet could be a transit corridor that services multiple types of mass transit or it could hold smaller units of an interior business corridor hidden by trees.

Great start Egg! When you dropped your trailer I decided to start a new city on this map. I went with the same couplet system idea and an oblongabout. Up to about 15K so far but loving the map and exploring different ideas.
As my machine at home isn't strong enough for CS2, I really love you start a new CS vanilla City! To answer the question of this episode: As you are going for a northern US-style City, I see buses as public transport at first. Cheers!
Trams and train from the start in terms of mass transit, with metro and monorail down the track, with plenty of pedestrianised areas and dedicated bikeways. If your looking for suburb/district names, I have a few ideas. Roanyolk (based on Roanoke in the US) Will we also see some name like Sharon and Karen, but maybe male ones like Darren, Warren, Barry etc.
The fact that I can now hopp over to Patreon, to watch Ep. 2, is sooo cool!!! Loved the start to the city 🤩 I would go for Trams, to answer the question of the episode. Think it would look really cool having trams running around the edge of the peninsula in front of a nightlife district or campus as you mentioned ☺️

So awesome to start another journey with you Egg. The historic train station and high speed rail unlock when the transport tab opens or when the metro unlocks. Trains and rail network planning way before the trains are available it would be awesome if a rail line could run the sleepy suburbs for a while on the couplet.
Excited for the new series! In the area with the mini-harbor the next tile over, you could make a cute little Old Harbor town with marinas and fishing, like Annapolis, Astoria, or Bar Harbor
The bones of this map reminds me so much of Vancouver BC. Might find some good inspiration there. Especially with the Skytrain running down the middle of the road at Terminal Ave or Lougheed in Brentwood.
Lovely start, Egg! Please look at the SalesForce Transit Center in San Francisco for possible inspiration. You could use the length of the couplet to introduce various transit hubs-featuring pathways, playgrounds, and unique parks-that lead to developing areas of the city. Since it sits at the highway entrance, you could call it Rannoch Gateway. Just a thought.
Yaay another series, i think either trams or trolley buss would really accentuate the coupler system. Maybe even a touch of cycling infrastructure. Eitherway you decide. Thank you for another start to great city
Loving the new cs1 city and detailing, so much effort, ideas and time go in to your builds, you set such a high standard, looking forward to see how the city develops.
You can turn the color of ground pollution also off in de settings menu on console. Go to settings and then graphics, there u can change the color of water and grass pollution or set it on no color. I am so excited for this series, am a console player of cities for years and u always bring me the best ideas for building my cities and decorating it. Thnx Egg👍🏼! Oh and I vote for trams❤
I think a green belt monorail would be good, with each station serving a community, or pair of communities, as a transit hub. Then the busses or trams spawn from the hubs and serve the local needs of localized transit and taking people to the hubs if they need to go farther.
An exciting start to a new series! In terms of your question, I would say buses make more sense for a low density suburb, possibly with a connection to a higher density tram or subway the serves the downtown
let's go Rannoch! hope we get a long and beautiful CS series! I would like to see a tram running down the couplet and a monorail for the first segment and then taking a right into the downtown area. other than that, glhf!

The bones of this map reminds me so much of Vancouver BC. Might find some good inspiration there. Especially with the Skytrain running down the middle of the road at Terminal Ave or Lougheed in Brentwood.
Always enjoy seeing a new city start to grow. So many ways to design them.
Lovely start, Egg! Please look at the SalesForce Transit Center in San Francisco for possible inspiration. You could use the length of the couplet to introduce various transit hubs-featuring pathways, playgrounds, and unique parks-that lead to developing areas of the city. Since it sits at the highway entrance, you could call it Rannoch Gateway. Just a thought.

I would say that a Tram system would work quite well.
Yaay another series, i think either trams or trolley buss would really accentuate the coupler system. Maybe even a touch of cycling infrastructure. Eitherway you decide. Thank you for another start to great city

You can turn the color of ground pollution also off in de settings menu on console. Go to settings and then graphics, there u can change the color of water and grass pollution or set it on no color.
I am so excited for this series, am a console player of cities for years and u always bring me the best ideas for building my cities and decorating it. Thnx Egg👍🏼! Oh and I vote for trams❤
I think a green belt monorail would be good, with each station serving a community, or pair of communities, as a transit hub. Then the busses or trams spawn from the hubs and serve the local needs of localized transit and taking people to the hubs if they need to go farther.

In terms of your question, I would say buses make more sense for a low density suburb, possibly with a connection to a higher density tram or subway the serves the downtown
