Wow, just wow, I am a Messi Fan but i could say now that Cristiano was a joy to watch back then, he was jaw-dropping! I can now proudly say that in terms of true footballing skills, he was better in 2009 than in 2008.

The red card was a disgrace. Arsenal were done, a yellow card would have sufficed. Some of these referees love to make a name for themselves

@@analogue11 David Dein was the former Vice chairman of Arsenal he was a real mover and shaker, they was the outstanding identify a player and he would get the deal done . He was outstanding in that capacity, he brought Arsene Wenger to, Arsenal, was instrumental in creating the Premier League and negotiated the PL deal with Sky Sports. However he fell out with the majority owner of Arsenal over the future direction of the club and was sacked with Arsene Wenger assuming Dein's role. However AW wasn't the deal maker Dein was and number of future great players Arsenal were in pole position to sign slipped through hands because AW wasn't prepared to the going rate for them. Ronaldo, Messi, Vincent Kompany, Gareth Bale , Ibrahimovic were amongst the names that all nearly signed for Arsenal but Wenger couldn't seal the deal. Utd took one look at Ronaldo and literally signed him the next day.
I am an Arsenal fan but its good he didn't come to Arsenal cause by those days Arsenal had started going down and that would have killed CR7's game.

So yeah he did destroy them
