when I was a kid, I was thinking that me and my tribe are the only Amazighs around the world, but it was just my own world.
when I grew up enough to visit other cities in Morocco, I though that Morocco is the only country where people speak Tamazight, but I was wrong again.
but now, I know that we are more numerous even more than what we think.
we still here, we struggle even all the contraints, and I'm so proud of that.
Don't tell me from what country you are, because they are just borders.

Yes, but Morocco is the most Berber of all of the Maghreb countries. It has more speakers and more genetic homogeneity of Berbers than any other country

My ancestors were nomads who wandered the amazigh part of the moroccan desert and draa valley.. Now I live in Paris, and I am so attached to tenere that when I listen to tinariwen music my eyes get closed by their own and my mind flies back home.. to the DESERT

I'm Irish American and I don't understand a word but I find myself humming and singing this while I'm doing things; mangling the words of course. I heard this on Radio France International and went to their website playlists to get the name of the song.

I grew up in the Amazon jungle and don't understand a word of Tamashek. However, for some inexplicable reason, I think that I can totally understand what their songs are about. For me, they're about communing with nature and your loved ones, about enjoying the quiet of the wilderness while basking in the love of your friends and family.
I'm Tuareg myself and I really want to visit amazon jungle, even biodiversity is rare here in the Sahara, it's still precious and beautiful everywhere. 🌱🌿

Last night I heard first time this music (the full album), and it was a great surprise for me how intensely my soul resonated to these melodies coming from so great distance. Not only spatial, but also cultural distance I speak about, I am from Hungary.
I feel however, despite the (apparent?) distance we are yet so close, very close...

@@lennybenny4341 Algeria is the biggest country in Africa, I live in the North, we have cold weather in Winter, it rains and it snows too, but in the South of Algeria, there is large desert, it rains rarely and no snow. If you have whatsapp or Facebook, I can send you fotos about snow from my town.
