emotional intelligence doesn't mean you can't express your emotions, it means you know how to communicate and manage them!

@@terecitanevarez2030 you can express emotions without acknowledging and understanding them. A lot of men get angry because they suppress their emotions but they don't acknowledge or communicate why they're angry type thing. So it's pretty different.

Emotional intelligence isn’t the art of hiding your emotions it’s more of the art of understanding that every emotion isn’t justified or necessary and also break down situations before reacting. Knowing that screaming at someone who bumped into you at a bar isn’t necessary is emotional intelligence.

i dont like how the emotional intelligence was scored bc its abt how you HANDLE ur emotions too yk? u have to be able to take what life throws at u (like an elbow from a stranger and no “excuse me”) and acknowledge how u feel, but not let that feeling dictate ur decision. like if its not worth it to get angry then find another outlet for that emotion and just move on! also, we’re all always growing so its okay esp cuz yall are younggg. another thing to note is that just bc ur okay with something (ei. rlly aggressive jokes) doesnt mean its necessarily ok.. imo if ur mean to those u care abt in an EXTREME way then ur js defensive bc u dont want to show u care and get f-ed over, esp if ur nice to others who u arent close with bc those arent the ones u fear r gonna f u over since ur not close. and lastly, progress is important to validate 100% so those scores could just be something to help u reflect on urself and think abt how to actively become ur best self u wanna be

59:46 i think when nick is going through any sort of negative emotion, while he has no obligation to convey in detail and force any vulnerability. i think being able to convey that he may need space or how he is having a difficult time dealing with his emotions would show great emotional maturity and intelligence. you must validate your own experiences and feelings, but not inflicting that on others and instead informing them on what you currently need or the basis of how you feel (within what you feel comfortable) is what i deem maturity.
