Man-Thing, an ultra-powerful man turned beast has been in the background of the MCU for a long time but finally had his chance to shine! This might be a surprising video to see, but like last year when I delved into the power of the ICONIC Vampire Hunter Blade for Halloween, I wanted to take a closer look at another Marvel Monster - Man-Thing. And yea, I’m a little early for Halloween, but I expect I’ll be pretty busy around Halloween with Black Adam.
Man-Thing is an interesting character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not only because he is a supernatural creature, but because he’s been teased in the MCU for nearly a decade! So, there’s more to draw on than just the incredible Special Feature, Werewolf by Night.
He’s the Manliest-Thing in the MCU

Maybe because his home is a mini multiverse bubble jungle and he is able to go through different places similar to the bifrost but he is also able to go through other universes

I read in the comics that man thing or Ted brain is located in different parts of his body like for instance his ear is located on his forehead and oddly enough he has a nose

Don't know about the MCU but in the comics Korg can lift up to 100 tons and is comparable to the Thing in punching power.

Soooo, in the comics Man Thing originated as the guardian of the nexus of reality, located in a swamp in the everglades. It is an empathic creature who feels pain from negative emotions. But only fear inspires said acid and leading to the tagline, "That which knows fear burns at the touch of the Man Thing." Strength wise it lifts a couple of tons in a standing dead lift over it's head. It is made of plant material and swamp muck. As such it just sort of ignores bullets shooting through it, gets punched through, then reforms almost immediately.
It's a curious monster that goes and takes a look at anything that gets near the nexus. Generally it's look inspires fear and causes it it to attempt to eliminate the pain fear causes it, burning away anything that might find the nexus. It's semi intelligent, formerly human and a mystical-scientific hybrid. Hulk would probably never have to fight it because Hulk fears nothing. Banner, however, could totally be frightened and become Hulk as Man Thing tried to kill him. Hulk would stomp it handily, but be unable to kill it. Man Thing would reform from swamp material after Hulk left.
Over time it got a little more versatile, being able to travel by creating portals, being altered so as to become intelligent and communicate in tongues.
Man Thing was created, as so many characters are, as a response to DC Comics' Swamp Thing. Basically they are both swamp monsters, but Man Thing is way less powerful than Swamp Thing and far less intelligent.

Honestly, I loved all 3 minutes we had with Man-thing in the show, and I wanna see him in action more! I don't know if I can agree that he is on Hulk/Thor level as he was captured by the hunters and couldn't get out of a maze. Like the walls were at most 20 feet tall, but Hulk could jump it... Although I can see the presence of the blood stone as a hindrance to his jumping ability or strength perhaps.
The Bloodstone definitely hindered him. But comic wise, Man Thing is a Nexus level being and I don't recall if he's on the same level as Thor or Hulk but he's not to far behind.
I hope we get to see Man Thing on Sakaar in a flash back.
@@Magdalena8008s that is true, at least in the Comics. I'm not sure if they will make that the case in the MCU, but I like your response! That makes sense to me, especially as Jack got thrown back and was writhing in pain for a while, while Ted was chilling with it on his shoulder!

In comics man thing is op as hell, probably stronger then every avenger ever, in the mcu we will see
I started this just to put something on while I cooked. Got totally hooked on it. It was amazing. I didn't think I'd like it because of the black and white but it really did an amazing job with it. Super unique and loved it.
He left out the parts how Man-Thing can teleport and is the guardian of the Nexus. But I really do hope the next Dr. Strange movie will have Man-Thing make an appearance or even appearing in a midnight sons movie.

I'm so excited for more man thing. Always loved his design ever since I first saw him.
Part of me doubts they would decide to make him anywhere near the strength or resilience level of a Hulk, especially considering his initial capture by the Bloodstone society and his primary use of his corrosive/incendiary touch as a weapon over physical strikes.
Make how strong is werewolf by night is too. Not just man thing who didn’t just appear.

Best thing about man-thing he’s beaten captain marvel( no surprise she’s weak) almost taken hulk down (now that’s surprising) I believe um who else am I missin. Also I believe man-thing joins a hero grp with Morbius,the werewolf,Venom couple times and other creatures as heroes of the night so it be nice if instead of the wokeCU we could get venom,morbius,man-thing, werewolf and the others to be the heroes of the night. (Also it’s night my brain isn’t working so I forgot the real name of thier team.)

Ive loved ted sallis since around 1982. You actually need to learn about man thing before doing a video. Especially transportation wise. If you know him you know he can get around and the thunderbolts used him for it.
