One man took self-service to a new level by cooking up a meal at a Waffle House when no one was there to take his order. Alex Bowen snapped selfies as he whipped up a late-night snack at the restaurant in South Carolina. "As soon as I walked around the bar to go to the back and I noticed one employee sleeping, I looked at her for a few seconds and I thought about waking her up but I thought ‘this employee is probably tired, I got you fam, I’ll take care of it’,” he told Inside Edition. #InsideEdition

Im an actual WH manager. We schedule based according to associates availability. If you request to work overnights then we expect you to actually work.

Probably that staff might have been sleeping on the job for a while and customer complain against him is too much. Plus it good marketing and probably give some new idea for waffle House to use. And he not trespassing and he didn't steal a thing, Who knows he might think someone died back there or a robbery is taken place because the store is open and no one there. And he the only one there at the time to check what going on.

One of my coworkers was a manager working 12-15 hours days and always tired and complaining about her back... Turns out she had cancer and was being treated for it with chemotherapy.... She couldn't call in to work because those days had to be used for the doctor and the even tho she worked at the company for 8-10 years she couldn't afford to take off and still have a place to stay, food to eat, and because the insurance from the company was the only good thing about it. So when she was at work and sleep because she had a treatment earlier or was just tired then those of us who knew would help... But the others who didn't were upset and petty towards her... We never know someones story and being the only person working is dangerous itself let alone at night... Sometime we didn't get off till like 12 and that would mean we(all female crew) close by 1 and there would be these men waiting across the street...they didn't do anything but their hollering and catcalls were making us all nervous and if 1 of us had been the ONLY closer.... I'm sure one then would've approached....

I did this once at a Denny’s I even cooked for 2 customers. But the employee’s weren’t sleeping the cook quit and left and the server was freaking out. She went to look for someone to call and since we were regulars on the weekends and would show up after our shift from another restaurant after 3am we helped her take orders and cook food. We never went back after that
