I;m sorry..I am no farmer ..but its scientifically proven that however you plant a seed, the shoot will find a way to surface upwards through the soil. In this espisode, she tells him to plant the potatoes with the eye facing upwards.is that the way its done or was she pulling his leg? thats funny. could someone clarify please? thanks.
I'm pretty sure you're right. If memory serves, in a biology lab which I T'A'-ed. plant hormones called auxins accumulated on the low side of the first root emerging from a seed, because of gravity and stimulated growth upwards. (No "plant consciousness").
