Laith could legit make history lesson videos and i'd watch all of them
Thank you for featuring our mod as always! Though there is a lot of work we still want to do for 532, the current version of 532 has plenty of interesting stuff already including but not limited to Belisarius and Justinian, so it would be great to see those other featured 532 bookmarks explored too.
Any reason why the Carthage Cotton is tied to a cultural tradition? Maybe if it gave a discount it makes sense, but it seems kinda insane that because you don’t have maritime mercantilism it would be impossible to restore it even if it were to cost 10000 ducats
Still love your mod to bits! Everything is So passionately crafted, it makes an incredible gaming experience!
@@historyafficionado478 I didn't really work on that part of the map so dunno. I'll bring it up to the other devs and see if anything needs to be done. Thank you!
"Seek help man"
I see that Carthage's salt still runs in your veins after millenia
Ah yes, another episode of Roman History with Laith.
Channel Legal Update: Hello everyone. My client, Laith - TheSocialStreamers, has read and sympathizes with your many comments expressing medical concern at just how high his hairdo has gotten in the past months. Unfortunately, as of January, Laith's hair became the highest geological feature in Southern England. Because of this, my client entered into an agreement with the Royal Navy, where in exchange for paying off two of his student loan debts, they are building an ultra-low frequency radio mast on top of his noodle. If he were to get a haircut before the end of this fiscal year, he would void this contract, and the Royal Navy would loose contact with three of their submarines in the North Sea. On behalf of my client I wish to thank you all for reading this far, and remember to dip a piece of bread in a pint of beer for Laith.
As an aspiring history nerd the best part of any laith video is the history rants, please keep them and never feel bad about it.
It's sad Justinian was never able to have kids with his wife😢
They probably wouldn't have established a dynasty. Cause like no one could forever, roman emperors were not rly fertile till specious komnenos
I’m so proud of you. You put western Rome instead of just Rome unlike most CZcamsrs
The things like the history tidbits are what makes this channel, and personally I’d actually like more historical stuff integrated into the content, especially how you do it in a interesting and focused way
They should fix the Ambitious trait so it only gives stress when you give away titles while under your domain limit (no stress when granting titles when you are above the domain limit)
Or make lesser debuffs for having over your domain limit , when you have ambitious trait
@@user-no4fq3dt7d yeah, that's also fair. But I think that we can all agree that the Ambitious trait needs a little rework. I wonder if there is a mod for it?
11:10 There was actually a berber successor state to the western roman empire. The shield probably isn’t a reference to that but I think it’s kinda neat that the mod accidentally mirrored real history
When I saw the title I thought it was a comeback from a certain multiplayer campaign in EU4... 😅
Also, love the history bits, don't feel bad about them. In fact, give us more of them!
Thanks for the history lesson Laith. I wonder if Belisarius ever got wind of Khosrau tho.
"Belisarius! Khosrau pillaged Antioch and said he will build better Antioch! That little-"
But the most cursed thing would be if both loved each other and Theodora liked it 😨. Well, lets see who you play next I guess.
Syracuse being a back water means it's an opportunity for real estate investment
Always a pleasure to see CK3 back on the channel, and the history lessons are just the icing on the cake
Ah yes, really going through Belisarius' history is giving me conniptions with how he was treated and kept coming back for more.
Laith, thanks for the great vid and sick history talk. It’s always so cool to see historical gaming CZcamsrs who actually know about the world they’re playing in.
Really appreciate the historical background, adds an extra layer to the video
My life was made better by the existence of John the Armenian in CK3
I discovered your channel 30 minutes ago and uh... I love it. Your history rants are incredible and I love it.
Man, Belisarius betraying Justinian while also cucking him with Theodora is for sure the most cursed timeline I've seen in a while.
The Eastern Roman Empire will use the term 'Belisariusian Empire' to demean the Western Roman Empire's legitimacy to emphasize Belisarius betrayed Justinian when it was Justinian who drove Delisarius to revolt against his paranoid ways.
Ironic because the HRE and other western powers called the Eastern Roman’s empire “empire of the Greeks” to demean them in reality.
I didnt hear about this update, just played it, went the historical route and then murdered Justinian's son and ended up Eastern Roman Emperor, its such a good mod
Part 2; Secure the Mediterranean. Unify Italy. Restore the Guard. Restore the Diosies. Restore the Empire.
"Justinian's gay" Ah, the last true Roman indeed.
Man i love history class
When you are good mediocre people with big egos will either try to attach themselves to you or pull you down
I'd love it if Laith did more history lesson type stuff. We need a new Crash Course History and Laith is Dan Green.
Thank you laith for teaching us history even though you editor bullies you 😂. Keep doing it, your history lesson are one of the thinks that makes you unique and an amazing CZcamsr
I really enjoy the extra history in these videos!
Ngl, the history bits are actually what made me sit through this, as I very rarely can with pure pdx gameplay videos.
Love the history lessons please don't stop doing this. Genuinely makes me want to watch more.
Best Combo, History lessons and Ck3, love you videos.
The history part of this video sets it apart from all the other yooutubers and I love it. Would be great if you could make a history video using CK3
If possible I would love to know more about history of different kingdoms so if you do make a playlist of historical leaders and countries please go into detail.
Ah, a hiding dream of every men of the West.
I don’t know if they got rid of it or if it’s a chance but the Ostrogoths are supposed to or sometimes offer you the Western Roman crown and you will immediately become theWestern Roman Empire if you accept but it’s very difficult since you get tons of revolts and an immediate war with the the Byzantines (and if you take too long in the Gothic Wars Justinian will recall you because of the Sassanians)
I'd love to see more Ck3 in the near future!
Please keep doing the little history lessons! I love history, but my knowledge in this period isn’t through, so I learn a lot from the lessons.
i love these videos, please keep doing them
Love the history that goes along with it
Love the CK3 content.
The law codifier was Tribonian FYI.
Hey Laith could you make a video about the life of this fantastic general? I would love to hear more.
Lowkey a Laith podcast about this period of time would BANG
The history lessons actually add a lot to the video
I really wish someone made a conversation mod between Fallen Eagle and the base game. Would love to play to the 9th or 11th century and then switch to base CK3 on the same save file
You really need to move your head cam a little up. It blocks the date (very important) and your war score
You should do videos where you just do history deep dives of certain regions in CK3
8:36 The Romans did actually start to respect Hannibal as a good leader after they had won the Punic wars, so Belisarius looking to him as a source of inspiration wouldn't be that weird.
History facts in this video were quite interesting
most fucking epic mod ever
Someone spoil me how the Tunisian game went?
Do a play through of that Roman kingdom in Gaul that gets invaded by the franks and try to reform the Gaelic empire
I wish someone would make a film about this campaign
Tribonian was the lawyer who codified the Roma Law
You should try the new overhauled Imperial government, curtesy of Wrench himself!
Love them history lessons, also, we’re wartales man
I need you to nerd out even more.
Tuned in for the ck3 and stated for a history lesson (i dont even know what time period hes talking about)
Welcome to the history channel 😂😂
Bring back my life! I need to do things other than ask you for play Fire Emblem Games! It's been 156 days.
I don't know about you guys but I'm personally more interested in Laith's history segments than the actual gameplay.
Laith id watch a whole series with episodes of this all the way till 1453
I agree with the people here. Hit us with the history lessons! I also hope we get more from this mod! There's so many starts worth exploring here.
i love the history, and i really want to see you go justinian and just force the mediterranian back into some sembelance of a roman empire
Love me some nerdy history dumps
Video idea - 10-ish minutes of history lessons. After that, gameplay video of the era/location/people included in the lessons. Nobody is mad. Everybody claps.
0:20
nooooooooo
why can't I have my based kleptocracy built on the back of slave estates?
To be honest I have never seen anyone play as the sassanids so can you play as them and give us a history lesson as playing as them
I would love if like after conquering too much as Belisarius you get blinded in an unskippable event and there’s nothing you can do about it
Leif if you did some sort of history series I would watch it so many timess especially if it was in some sort of entertaining way, maybe using ck3 or eu4 or other games to show maybe hmmmm?
romaboo approved content ✔
instant like
episode done, do part 2
My only knowledge of belisarius is of all the paintings people in the 1700s made of him begging his ex soldiers for change after his fall from grace. Pretty harsh of those rennasiance painters if you aak me
it hasd been 2 generations when big boy bel showed up in tunis... the were vandels
0:26 They really should tbh. I hate to see a romaboo whining about its fall, twice.
The fallen eagle’s such a great mod!!!
Ahh atilla dlc I remember this
Speaking of your history lessons lol You should play as Henry II in the kingdom of heaven mod and conquer France
I’m doing an international marketing project on Tunisia where we are trying to introduce a breakfast food to the country. We need to interview someone from there. It shouldn’t take to long if you’re interested!
Silly question probably, but is EPE available for this mod? I really want to play it but I can't stand how people look in vanilla.
Tribonian man! Tribonian was the man
Interested in studying this topic beyond wikipedia what would be a good place to start?
I love the history lessons
Laith, what on earth is going on with your hair at the moment?!
The good ending
ahh these brings up total war attila memories :D
What mods are enabled here?
At some point I should retry this campaign in total war attila.
Day 183 of asking for an Oranje Free State Playthrough of Vicky 3...It's surprising how long it's been now in retrospect.
Lol. All my larps in 1.
w vid!!!!!!!!
Now bring it all back :)
What mod is this can anyway tell me please
Bro needs to be a history teacher
How much do you think about Roman Empire?
How about playing as Athalaric? Good luck, though...
Fellow history enjoyer
Always enjoy CK3 stuff. Also do not apologize for history lessons, we are all nerds here.
Stop feeling bad for the history lessons, they not only make you stand out compared to other youtubers but they are genuinely great lectures especially since they aren't scripted
ah yes other EU4 youtubers, consistently known for their dislike of history
Yes definitely, for me Laith's historic ramblings are the best part of the video
@@Podzhagitel I mean as much as I love Red Hawk, I don't think he's known for history lessons in his videos
@@TheQwopChampion He has a second channel he just launched where he talks about geopolitics, geography, and history. He is definitely a fan of history, he just doesn't bring it up much in his EU4 videos. He does drop some facts from time to time though.
@@oddiethefox5832 I'm not saying he's not a fan of history or that he doesn't know anything, I just mean red hawk more often than not just focuses on the game and talks about that, and doesn't go on tangents very often like laith does in these kind of videos. Which is fine, nothing wrong with either video style, I'm just saying that the guy I was replying to was missing the point of OPs comment
