Nope, sure doesn't. Normal mode is nothing like this. I wish it was because what you're doing is allot easier. I really really wish all you CZcamsrs would stop making guides on either dynamic or easy mode. It's frustrating because it's completely different.

Boo hoo hoo the video game is too hard and it has too much content and mini-games... You NOOBS will never be satisfied, the mini-games are fire, I love the way they mix it up and you NEVER know what to expect. Besides the developers were saying for months that the game was going to be mostly mini games if you would have paid attention you would have known that.

Came into this encounter overconfident thinking the old Remake strategy using Braver, Stop, and Sleep would make short work of him again - I was wrong. My boomer reaction time made countering his reload a lot harder than shown in the vid as well. Probably the second hardest encounter for me, behind Aerith solo'ing those two bombs.
Elemental+fire on your armour makes that fight really easy
Double Bomb fight is not that hard with the proper materia setting.
Aerith is so unpleasant to control imo. I don’t mind having her around, but the parts where I’m forced to play as her always feel worse than every other character. Even Cait Sith is less unwieldy and half his kit is rng or buffs.

@@lllool8404 I'm sure it's something I've overlooked that would make me feel silly after figuring it out. I spent 30 mins on this fight literally banging my head against the wall while it took 5 tries to take Odin down.
Rufus is the biggest BS fight in the game. I hate gimmicky bosses.

I beat it on my 5th attempt and it was very satisfying. The most annoying fights are ones where you can't even use Chakra. I love how frenetic the fight is.

No he wasnt. You have to play this guy patiently. Learn the moveset and punish accordingly just like every fight in the game.

Just hit duribg reload run until limit break: limit break kinda straight skips first phase. LoL

To be fair the CHocobo flying took me nearly 2 hours to finish.
I finished the game a few days ago and I’m cleaning up the play log before hard mode and I’m at 174 hours
I finished it I like 40 to 50 hours game is way too long 😂 still on dynamic I had some crazy fights only the double dog fight had me salty still beat it though everything else was manageable fun game I’ll probably beat everything else on new game plus because you can wear anything
@@thegamewin100yeah if u don’t do a lot of side content then u will be around 50 to 60 hours I’ve done a ton of side content I’m around 146 hours in and I’m on chapter 13

I beat the game before Blitzz and I’m jealous of how easily he beat Rufus. I played the game on Dynamic and still took me a while to learn to use Focused thrust when he reloads both when he does and doesn’t have dark star.
Why use focus thrust? He’s weak to braver. Insta stagger.
I prefer disorder over both. More consistent and fills up your atb. Braver timing is too strict. You have to be in the braver animation before he starts reloading and within range for it to trigger stagger.
this fight gave me so much trouble cuz i was trying to hit the braver, i just gave up and just whittled him down slowly
I was doing the same thing. Decided to use focused thrust to close the gap and then attack similar to what Blitz was doing. I forgot to you could Dark Star dirty like that with the tripple slash.

Died three times before deciding to look up a guide. Yours was the second one I watched, and the first that offered what seemed like viable strategies other than what I'd already tried on my own. Gave it my fourth attempt and beat him after an 8-minute encounter.
Haste and Regen helped a lot. Struggled a bit to keep the Disorder loop going proper, but it still helped quite a bit. Also using Triple Slash during the Darkstar phase was brilliant, didn't expect that to work so reliably. Summoned Titan for the last stretch and he did major damage for me.
Thanks for the assist! Was very happy that I managed to do it without lowering to Easy difficulty. I now actually have some faith to try going for that Platinum and redoing the fight on Hard mode. 👀💦

This is the video that actually helped me beat Rufus with some ease and incredible luck. 1 infinity end at the right time got him down to 25% health, enter Darkstar, a Limit break, Stagger, Disorder, Bahamut, & Firebolt blade got the job done. Added all the same materia, completely forgot about the atb boost, and never blocked anything 😂

This fight made me rage so bad. I tried using triple slash when he reloaded but I guess I was too late every single time because he’d still grab interrupt me and counter even though I fired it off right when reload appeared. This fight really had me feeling a way about rebirth I didn’t like but I will go back and try like you show here because I want to be able to get it done without suffering! Thank you!!!

I’m not following your disorder combo. Are you saying to hit him with disorder then use “blade beam”? Is that his ranged evade+attack thing? And what’s triggering the slowdown?
Dodge then mash square. After 5 hits it triggers a slowdown

Prime mode and Disorder are your best friends in this fight

Disorder refunds a lot of ATB while it pressured Rufus. When staggered use Prime mode and go berserk (hold square) then use infinity end when

was a nightmare on hardmode, bcz you have to beat corneos dog after that rude and elena and than rufus vs cloud solo where you cant recover mp and you join rufus fight with 0 mp
yeah playing this fight has pretty much made me say screw the plat trophy for this game. some of those mini games were pissing me off as it is. This fight will be bullshit on hard. Not worth it in my opinion.

@@NanaHoneyB I love the game in general. But anything on the hard mode is a b****. A lot of it was super hard in part 1. But certain builds made everything but hellhouse less of a pain. But certain stuff got slightly nerfed in rebirth that makes it harder to follow the same builds. it is still doable. But unless you are a gaming guru that is a parry god you pretty much have to find a way to cheese things.

So I’m just over it rn lmaooo and I will not be going through this on hard again. I’ll just wait for Part 3 before I burn myself out.

Valkyrie Bangle is a must as it boosts your defence. I also equipped Enhanced Draconic Ring. I kept dodging and blade-beaming him, using Chakra and Curaga often, and using haste. It's a vicious, long, tough, fight, but because of that it's extremely satisfying finally beating Rufus. Disorder, move I had largely ignored for much of the game, is very effective if you get an opening.
Thank you very much! You said that ATB stagger is a must. Something really funny is that your ATB is maxed each time you stagger Rufus. But it’s good to have it on, just in case :-)

Dude. I can't thank you ENOUGH. This got me through Rufus on hard mode and it's the only guide that actually worked. You got me through Weiss on Remake as well. Please, for the love of god, do a guide for Bond of Brothers in VR challenges once you unlock it. The best guide I could find was Optinoob's but I spent over 35 hours trying to get it to work and still cannot get past the last fight. I'm at the point to where I'm willing to just pay someone like you to beat it for me. It's beyond just 'challenging' - it's straight up spiteful. Plz hlp (once you get there, anyway).

Take my thumbs up. I beat him on my first attempt following your guide. The start was rough and it seemed like he only reloaded after he hit me but eventually I got him with a few Disorder's. I admit I got lucky because as soon as I Staggered him I got my limit break which took his health down to 25%. Then as soon as his dog came in I summoned Odin and he finished them both of them

i tried this and still had no luck, what do you mean by let it detonate after dodge roll not sure what you mean dodge roll slow down either lol, i had no luck trying dodge roll attacks he just blocks it was better using focused thrust but that didnt always work. triple slash was no good for the hound either sad to say im glad it worked for you thou

I had enemy skill on cloud and used plasma discharge which helped me tremendously in this fight when Rufus would rush at cloud.

Dude thank God this was the only time I literally threw my controller playing this game. I ended up just doing what you said with disorder and then when the dog came out I summoned bahamut arisen and he took Rufus out pretty quickly this fight is So frustrating!

I staggered him with a braver accidentally and tried to figure out how to replicate it, thanks for confirming! with some practice you can almost do it consistently, it's about 50/50 if he will reload after ricochet. Makes phase 1 trivial. also I noticed if you get his health pretty low by phase 2 he will take breaks to try to heal a lot. I used Jump a lot to close the gap quickly for when I'm far away and he starts a move

First time I fought him I was way too defensive done chapter 12 like 9 times now for everyone's dates been experimenting with him too

In case it helps anyone else, I found dodge square x4 from a distance helped a lot (5th sends cloud flying in and leaders to a counter). Cloud's energy waves generated a nice amount of ATB, can pressure, and sometimes lock Rufus up. Chakra as needed and triple slash any time he uses a named skill. Kills the ability and pressures. Infinity edge once he staggered got him to like 1/3 hp for phase 2. One triple slash and a LB when both were melee range...dead.
I think the first time I've seen anything about you, it was your Rufus. Now I'm here, a huge fan of you seeing your new guide on Rebirth Rufus. It makes me happy.
Gotta say, this fight just like Remake's kinda sucks if you don't do these strats. Now sure, they can be a cakewalk if you know what you're doing, but I think it kinda sucks that you can't exactly hit him unless he does some dumb reload move. Other than that, it was a cool fight. It just feels a little unfair.
They made Rufus overpowered in both games so far. The fight in this game annoyed me more because the first game had a mild difference in combat style. i managed the win but not without extreme annoyance. They made him overpowered for the sake of him being over powered.

This is the first fight i was super pumped when i beat it... being to swap materia in between the turk foght and this one was good to lnow.

I followed this for the first phase then it came down to the wire and for the second phase, i had them both nearly dead and i was at like 1 hp and them Odin came in clutch with his 9999 damage 😂 Youre doing God's work my man!

Ait just found this by accident and hardly thinking about it. After I tried this did it first try!
Simple: Golden Brawler's Gloves + Sleek Saber (ATB + ATB + ATK UP) + Bahamut
First phase just fight and stagger so you fill you limit up, once up it bypasses all the BS and goes straight to second scene.
Second scene fill one ATB and use ATB boost to summon Bahamut, stall and Bahamut uses his Ultimate almost killing the dog (just couple attacks and one braver done).
Now you focus on Rufus's reload stagger and done.
This is on Dynamic difficulty, level 46.
I was spamming cloud offense slash. And my thumb eventually was starting to hurt so bad. but I beat him on my first try but it took like one hour.

I was able to beat him on normal, it wasn’t easy, but I’m proud I did it without needing a guide…we’ll see about hard mode tho 😅
My jaw is on the floor in pure disbelief I just beat him after watching your video once. Forever grateful my guy you are some kind of video game expert like woooooow lol.
I finally beat him. I used the setup the guy sets out in this video and I set the game on easy mode. I beat him on my first try on easy mode. I tried about 40 times on normal and couldn't do it.
Beat this last night on stream after a lot of trial and error. It was frustrating until I got his patterns down. What hurt me early is I kept putting distance between him and me and using sword beam attacks instead of getting in his face while reloading.
But it's totally not fair that you start right after fighting Rude and Elena.
I found it so cool how SE has the courage to finally put a challenge into the mainstory of a final fantasy game which didn´t happen since PS2 era (final bosses of XIII trilogy excluded). The game has some flaws but all in all it is by far the best final fantasy since the PSX golden era.
I struggled with the Rufus fight in Remake and was absolutely dreading this encounter in Rebirth. Took me 3 very long tries on normal mode. I’m scared for hard mode.
I used Punisher counter + Focused Strike on the dog, in both games, works great.

This is the part of the game I started to come to hate the game, bosses from this point on just weren't fun with there overly inflated healthpools and stats and only being able to do any real damage at specific points. Like Rufus in Remake was fine, pain to hit but when you did he took big damage. Here he is a walking tank that is a pain to hit, not fun

What difficulty were you playing on? I’d personally disagree with you. I played on Dynamic and the bosses after this, which are really just Red Dragon and Demon Gate, weren’t too bad.
In fact Demon Gate I was surprised how little health it had and how quick it was to beat.

@@RAGEAlanBunI melted through Demon Gate with an enemy skill Yuffie setup lmao. Rufus gave me infinitely more of a headache than anything throughout the entirety of ch 13 so far, but I’m sitting at what I think is the end of ch14 so I guess I’ll see if there’s anything there.

Thank you so much for this. But that move in Rufus phase 1 is a hit or miss for me, so it took me a long time to stagger him lol. I'm incompetent haha. Took me 5 times, but get it eventually and this guide helps so much
I did ok vs rufus it was the biker boy in nibblhielm (i may have spelt that wrong) that gave me issues but it was the mithral golem on hard mode that made me put down the controller and walk away

As a player who beat hard mode on remake I hardly had any trouble on Rufus on normal since most of his attacks are the same from remake.
Rufus was a pain in the butt. Died many times and had to check online for tips. Note: this is a two part boss fight. First is against the Turks and then Rufus, so the save is right before the Turks and Rufus. I decided to sleep on Rufus and turned off the PS5. Next day, turned on my PS5, opened up Rebirth, and realized I gotta fight the Turks again. Lol
Yeah, one of my biggest complaints so far is the auto-saved system. It makes no sense.
@@SonofStormblessed The game was more likely designed to punish players. Sometimes you won’t have the correct materia equipped. Sometimes losing a boss means going back to the first fight. Oh well. It is what it is. lol
helpful tip i learned: rufus only has 8 shots to shoot, this includes his attacks AND his movement, meaning if you keep up with his shots you can easily anticipate a braver stagger more consistently.

You make it looks so easy, this fight is so frustrating, you have to reset your materia and combo shortcuts each time

I just stay the hell away from him and keep doing that move where Cloud dodges and shoots that greens stuff from his sword the key is to just keep moving and dodging his attacks and hit him right BEFORE he reloads, not during because it will be too late and he'll just counter you. and he reloads everytime he does a special move so that is your window. He's more cheap and gimmicky then anything else because his attacks don't do THAT much damage. Took a long time but I eventually staggered him and did my limit break which basically cut his health in half. When he brought his stupid dog in the fight, I just summoned Odin. I didn't really have to do much because Odin's attacks kept pressuring both of them and Once Odin did his finisher they were done.
So I found just running from him and dodging his BS, waiting for him to Reload was better, shooting the green stuff wasn't worth doing. Making sure to keep in range for when I hold Square I can lunge and just spam attack until he looks like he's going to fight back. Do that until he staggers, build ATB, Infinity’s End the fker. Then he summons his dog, I just focus on him until I get ATB for my summon. I had Bahamut. Run around some more. Then I pop my Limit Break when that's ready, no point using in phase 1. Then I waited for Bahamut to use his final attack and boom, done.
I hate this fkin game. Any fun I've had so far just gets eaten away by either bs mini games or bs fights like this. xD
@@K1LLW1N the green stuff doesn't do any damage but it will pressure him if he's hit at the right time giving you a window to attack it was the only way for me to fill his stagger meter.
The final 3 chapters of the game are just exhausting. just an endless stream of boss fights. By chapter 12 I was just burnt out and wanted the game to end. I had to force myself to keep playing in order to beat it. I gotta say I liked Remake a lot better. It had much better pacing. Rebirth was too bloated. It felt like I was playing an Ubisoft game. The story got way too convoluted. and the ending sucked.
@@yokiryuchan7655 i haven't finished it yet, but I hear you. Remake had some pacing problems but it was 100x better over all I agree. More is not always better.
Especially when it's recycled stuff. I put 80 hours into Remake to get the Platinum Trophy, I have like 70 at chapter 12 in Rebirth, its madness.

Damn near had em today on my first try, with the bare minimum too. I don't have much Materia, I haven’t done any of the Chadley stuff and I haven’t even unlocked any of the summons from the battle simulator. Trying to rush through the story lol…
Normal mode, Rufus alone: its pretty helpful to keep mid range or close, rather than long range. Imo his moves are trickier to dodge from far. For consistent akimbo dodge try 4 dodge rolls with no delay and all toward same direction, you have to start the rolls immediately and commit hard in direction. after the 4th successful dodge you can immediately go in for like five strikes. Besides his basic shotgun attack and akimbo, the rest of his moves are fairly easy to dodge with big telegraphs, just be patient.
I found both of Darkstars sic/homing moves really hard to dodge and when hit they often stunlock and combo you to death. so in this phase, dont be timid. Get in close with full health and start triple stabbing these fools fast. Once you're in, stay in and just build your gauge through attacks, then immediately triple slash again. you will mostly lock them down this way. You'll take a few hits, but nothing like their range combos, as long as you're fast with attack + triple, you will finish one off before taking lethal damage
