💛💛 totally feel the fight for balance between rest and wanting to be productive on the few days off
I agree completely. I've been trying to declutter and deep clean my home and I feel like relaxing whenever I get time off from my job but I also have so much to do all the time that I feel immensely guilty taking time off. One thing that helped A LOT is planning how much time I want to clean my home and relaxing comfortably the rest of the time.
Yes that's what we do! Every weekend looks different- some times it's one relaxing day & one house work day or we do a 1/2 day of relaxing each day etc. But planning it is so helpful!
I love the credenza!! I agree with you about three looking good. Maybe a nice floor plant could look good next to it. The house is coming together so beautifully ❤️

My husband works in a small construction company. Def go that way. Bigger company probably ghosted cos the job wasn’t worth it to them but a small local company will def do it and likely for less and they will prob do a better job!
Also if possible for the bathroom there are paints specially made for the bathroom which are for high moisture areas. We just used one I think it’s called Aura bath and spa paint by Benjamin Moore. I only say it just because that wall you painted is so close to where the steam will rise up. It’s good to use that sort of paint on the ceiling as well if you decide to paint that❤
So I did know there are paints for high moisture areas however because we're just doing this for like a year or two until we gut the bathroom like I mentioned- we decided to not spend the extra money on it. We really just wanted to use what we had. However, if we were keeping this bathroom, long-term or in any other bathroom, we were definitely use paint specifically designed for high moisture environments!
We already don't have fans in there, so it's not really a sustainable bathroom for us long-term but whenever we regret it and redo it, we will definitely use the paint made for bathrooms. We just wanted to keep this one super budget friendly since its only to hold us over for a year or two! Because down the line, we will not have a clawfoot tub, we will gave an actual shower in there so we won't even have to worry about paint! But definitely gonna leave this comment up for anyone who didn't know this!!
Your bathroom is rustic, it's nice to have skill . People handle everything on their own .That's perfect , if you are talented and of course you are . I love your cute 🪴plants, looking at plants without flowers makes them last longer. My favorite are green plants 🪴🌱🌿, they also give oxygen to the house . Have a nice day 😌

Good call on the navy wall! I think if you would have painted it white it would've clashed with the shiplap bc the boards go different ways! House projects can be so intimidating, glad to see to you follow your gut and take a risk! 😊

If you get a diamond drill bit, you can drill your own drainage holes into the pots you’ve thrifted and put water saucers under them! When I discovered that hack it changed my life! 😂

It's an option! We aren't big art people and love floating shelves for plants and books but might try a few things out and a big frame is one of them!!

I agree, I enjoy relaxing but if I don’t feel productive than it kind of stinks. I turn into a multi tasker so like I can watch a tv show but I also have to be putting away laundry or something like that.
Yea it's been hard especially in a fixer upper home where we have infinite amount of home projects- I feel like I always need to be doing something

Why don't you do like 2 or 3 staggered shelves WITH art in between, I've seen that before and it can be quite cozy
We already have a gallery wall on the opposite side of the dining room that is quite busy so I think the goal is to keep the side with the credenza simple- either art or floating shelves!
I cannot understand why they put that flooring on the wall like it looks insane 💀
