@@smivadee strange, even Google says 1866... We take pride in our early formation as we are a few miles away from Sheffield FC and the Juventus story of a striped kit taken from there visit to notts county, us then Sheffield fc
Again, I'm not trying to dispute or take away any pride from fans. Google does say 1866 but I do research so read into things more hence why I come to the 1919 date. Google also says:
Although there is a widely-held belief that the first Chesterfield club was formed in 1866, no contemporary documentary evidence has been found to substantiate a claim for formation earlier than October 19th., 1867... The Chesterfield Town FC (1899) Ltd was put into voluntary liquidation in 1915... Chesterfield Borough Council formed of the Chesterfield Municipal FC on April 24th, 1919...
