Either way though, I realized after recording that maybe a super out-of-touch-with-their-emotions character doesn't sound as dynamic as my other characters and may not be as fun to listen to. as an autistic person with adhd i almost started to cry when you/he started talking about how the "routines" might not be 'logical,' but they just make sense to his brain so that's how it's always been... MAN. i legitimately sighed in relief and relaxed my shoulders that i didn't realize were tensed. it's so refreshing to hear stuff like that that i resonate with so deeply.
I don’t have either of those but I do have ocd and I’m a perfectionist. I can see where you are coming from😂 I have always told myself to do things a certain way or else something will happen if I don’t, or it will bug me. For example, color coding everything or making sure nothing is near falling off any tables. It is quite refreshing to hear someone say something like that. It’s like you knew you were never crazy because you were told that people had the same feelings you do but when someone actually shows that, it completely different.

Oh my gosh, my heart! I'm neuro-divergent and mask almost constantly and this dialogue is literally how I feel all the time. Typically I just ignore feelings I don't really understand so the idea of having someone you trust to ask about that stuff is so freaking amazing!
As someone who’s autistic and has historically had so much trouble feeling, identifying, and communicating my emotions, this was intensely relatable and so cute.
I immediately wanted to hold his hand and tell him he’s doing such a good job expressing himself and how my emotions feel in comparison. My heart strings were well and truly pulled 💛

Oh goodness, I know someone who works at a Starbucks so I can occasionally get free caramel macchiatos and it's the highlight of my day every time, I looove that one. I have to be in the mood but sweet coffees are sublimeee

I've been listening and re-listening to a bunch of your audios and they contain a lot of beautiful conversational prose. Something about this character listing their compulsive behaviors and internal logic felt like it's own nostalgic little poem.

Wonderful 💖 the character was adorable and I loved how they were written-so much detail that made them come to life! Your voice acting was so sweet and wholesome and emotional to the perfect level. I am really glad the tone wasn’t played as overtly monotone, because that doesn’t always translate well over only sound. I think voice acting needs almost overacting to convey the same emotional range we get with visual cues. Anyway, I’m rambling. This was great exactly as is 😙 thx for sharing it!
I definitely hear you about overacting. Sometimes I'll finish a take and be super proud of my performance but then I'll listen back and realize the emotions didn't come through because I can't see my face saying the words! I tried to strike a balance between monotone and emotive and I'm happy where I landed. Glad you agree!
