British Humor is far more dark than American or Canadian humor. I've noticed that quite frequently. He'd literally just have people walking out if he deployed his normal routine.

Rapid fire jokes. Thats a more difficult style than story telling- which kills a lot of time.
Shadow Heart story telling is more normal and it’s weird him telling jokes out of nowhere
Stand-up is about jokes and you can deliver jokes in different styles (some don't even talk at all). I admire difficulty simply because it is harder to do one liners. Carr doesn't always do one liners. Examples of people who do one liners as a full act are Tim Vine, Steven Wright, Emo Philips, Stewart Francis and Milton Jones. I can't do what they do.

Writing. Think about writing a joke. You'll go blank for a few seconds. Now think about the jokes per minute ratio. Some fast talkers like Time Vine could do something like 20 jokes a minute or more (He once held the world record for most jokes told in a certain time).

BeastlyBogan Just checked and I think you're right in that this is recent. Heard a lot of this before though. I reckon he's been doing the Madonna joke since she was 50 but it's funnier/more acceptable to take the piss out of a 50 year old than a 60 year old.
Also feel he's doing older more PC stuff because the audience isn't used to him and they're more comically conservative over there anyway.

That last joke confused the audience a bit when they didn't hear the punchline and realized that they had to clap, just before he gave it to them
