John Piper is my favorite preacher. I think he's the greatest theologian of our time. This message is so good. It blessed me enormously.
I love John Piper too! I don't know if he's my favorite preacher, but he's definitely up there. Others I really love who are still alive and preaching today: Geoff Thomas, Sinclair Ferguson, Alistair Begg, David Murray, Iain Duguid, Robert Norris, Don Carson, Tom Schreiner, Ben Stuart, Paul Washer, Andy Davis, Mark Dever, Dane Ortlund (his brothers and father are good too, but Dane's preaching speaks most to me). (Recently deceased: RC Sproul, Tim Keller, Jerry Bridges.)
I think my favorite living theologians are: John Frame, Vern Poythress, Paul Helm, Bill Davis, James Anderson, Greg Welty, Robert Letham, Carl Trueman, Sinclair Ferguson (he's both a solid preacher and a solid historical theologian), Kevin Vanhoozer, Doug Groothuis, GK Beale, Tom Schreiner (if biblical theology counts as being more a theologian more than a biblical scholar). (Recently deceased: JI Packer.)

As Paul said in Phil1:6 - being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you willperform it until the day of Jesus Christ. AKJV
"Some are more Democrats and Republicans than they christians," that sure nailed it! Sadly that's describes far too many Americans who calls themselves Christians, including pastors.
So works based. He convolutes the gospel with self effort. Very damning!
What Piper preach is truth - Jesus REALY did it - see Heb10:10,14 but to strengthen your heart, here are the missing verses you need:
1 Thes 5:23-24 :) and Phil1:6 coz the beauty of this teaching is: He has and will finish our sanctification process as well - we just have to believe it... Jesus Christ within us is doing it.
How? See 1Cor11:31,32 as well as Heb12:1-14 - note especially verse :8 and 10.
And remember the stages of our spiritual growth as discussed in 1 Jhn 2:12-14. Also see how Paul spoke to the unruly little children in Christ in Corinth - 2 Cor 7:10-11

I agree with everything you just shared. Listen to John Piper's view on final justification. It backloads salvation with works and perseverance rather than trusting the completed work of Jesus for the believer. All the passionate delivery doesn't make the message any less harmful as it pertains to the pure gospel.
Nothing like a bit of works righteousness for Christmas. I'll stick to the gospel thanks very much.
Even athiests or those in false religions with false gods etc. Can quit bad things and be good poeple.
Pride, treating people bad and ego are very hard … not sure I’ve ever met a truly humble, kind and modest unbeliever tbh
@LetsGrowinChrist I am all for growth in grace, trying to live right, fighting against the human nature etc. But that is not how piper teaches. He teaches that poeple who don't have victory in these areas are not saved, trying to make himself the judge instead of God.
@wib50 okay gotcha I see what you’re saying 👍🏻 scripture defines a Christian who is led by his flesh as a carnal Christian or maybe a lukewarm one… i think it’s clear that Christians who struggle are still Christian’s…. Now will they be allowed in God’s kingdom? That’s another topic

If your a christian to be that form for you has a pagan or paganism still evil that you should come to church to rid of evil ? So long term whom be punished by god ? The pope or the pagan / paganism ? We both are the same own good energy like a physic form and still true relgious dont matter if you see it or not .But with a form of evil or the 666 actions , your energy is gone of your reaction is fear from god words .So in that part between a true christian and pagan/paganism why we still holding the same truth with god ?

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your
minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3
Ask someone today if they are saved and
you will most likely hear responses like these:
“I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I
have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been
baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good
and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually
knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what
the gospel is and has left a devastating effect
of people not knowing what it is that they are
saved from nor how they are saved; which
leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation.
Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church
sounding phrases that do not communicate
anything. But rather present God’s word with
clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel:
plain and simple.
Sin was passed upon all men by one man
Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin
(Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of
condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of
this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good
works one might do we are still found sinners
in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found
righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even
one law we are found guilty.
It is for this reason of not being able to
create our own righteousness and being born
in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus
3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in
the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross
2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath
and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial,
and resurrection on our behalf that we are
able to have peace with God and forgiveness
of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good
news is unto all but only those that believe in
it are made righteous in Christ (Romans
3:22).
It is then after we have heard this good
news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit
and we are now part of Christ’s body the
church (Eph 1:13)
There is nothing that we need to do, no
good works that are required, and no bad
works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39).
Faith and belief in this information from
God’s word is the gospel.
The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your
heart. The gospel is not making him lord of
your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not
being baptized with water.
So next time someone asks you if you are
saved. Give them the clear assured answer
“Yes! And let me tell you why!”
