  • Here's a comparison between 5 great mice to hopefully help you choose what's going to be right for you. Mice are so good these days, I think many of us are choosing just based on shape and weight, plus some extra features.
    Let me know in the comments what you think! And which mouse or mice are catching your eye out of the Fnatic Thorn, Pulsar Xlite V3, Xtrfy M8 Wireless, Fantech Helios II and Endgame Gear OP1we.
    Also just a note on the M8, the grip width is slightly smaller than what I can measure, because it flares out a bit at the base and goes inward at the fingers, but it's not that far off, the recommendations are still pretty right, but I'd say that's why it looks smaller than the dimensions make it seem.

    Just to clarify for anyone new around here... I think the most important measurement for aim is the grip width, so because the OP1we has a slim grip width, it feels a lot like the MZ1 size wise, but obviously the length will make it look bigger. Same for the M8, the grip width is actually less than the measurement due to the base being wider than where the fingers go. Too hard to measure that properly, but that should explain why some of it seems "off" by looks and measurements given. The M8 looks like a smaller mouse than it is because of the shape.
    And for future, I've been super distracted by learning game design, rewriting book 2 of my series, working on music, getting back into health and fitness, trying to make other videos and ... basically I don't really have 40 hours to dedicate to each mouse review like I was. I feel like we're in a good place with mice so they really don't need that much time dedicated to them anyway. So, I'll try keep the site up to date and do more comparison videos or quick shape analysis vids. Let me know how that goes and if there are issues, we'll address them then. Otherwise, hopefully this new style will be good so I can dedicate more time to all the other creative projects, which may or may not include new mouse designs too. 😊

      >I think the most important measurement for aim is the grip width
      That's for your specific grip with Quake. You like smaller mice for your grip but for palm grip I can't use anything under 65mm wide.

Additionally, if you are interested in martial arts and self defense, I highly recommend watching Hard2Hurt, Jesse Enkamp, and also Martial arts journey with Rokas, as those CZcamsrs explain so many different things so well, and actually interact with high ranking martial artists from all around the world and focused on different talents.

    I'm loving the Lamzu Thorn. It fits my hand and grip style really well and the build quality and performance are just great. Also loved all the things you got in the box, especially the grip tape, I'm one of those people who needs it because otherwise, the mouse would just slide out of my hand so I really appreciate they included it in the box.

    I bought the XM2we about a year ago and it's been good. The switches do feel a bit on the heavy side. I switched to the G Pro X over the holidays because I got a really good deal and I like the G Pro shape and switches better. The And now you mention it the endgame gear does get oily and I actually don't like their coating because i felt like i had to wipe it down daily because you can feel the oil.
    Hey also I want thinking maybe in your reviews you can go over the way the buttons click and do a test on the mouse button 1 on how fast you can click it. that would definitely be noteworthy if the mouse allows you to repeat a single click easily.

    I understand you when you talking about loud clicks. For me it's so hard to pick a new wireless mouse that fits my hand regarding the shape and has quiet or at least moderate click sound. I'm used to my old SteelSeries Rival 310 with its very quiet and pleasant clicks with short travel distance. Unfortunately all of the modern alternatives that I've tried had very loud clicks. Like SS Prime shape felt good but those clicks were insanely loud. Those chinese lightweight ergo mouses had loud clicks too. Someone has to stop this clicky madness.

    How has your MZ1 held up over the years? I had an MZ1 myself and it was by far my favorite mouse in terms of size, shape, feel, etc. but my first one developed an issue with the clicks that made it unusable. The replacement that I got also developed the same issue.
    Have you experienced any issues with yours or has it held up pretty good? Definitely plan on picking up another one in the future. I feel I may have just gotten supremely unlucky with the two that I received.
    Outside of that, another great video. I always appreciate your mice reviews and have used your website multiple times to compare different products.

The exact same problem happened a few months after again. I called an RMA and they said that after the merger they refuse to RMA for my country. I bought another mouse and haven't looked back. Amazing shape, horrible business practice :(

    Hey RJN, I have 19x10 hands and use a pincer claw grip. I utlise the same side of my palm you demonstrated in this video. However, I often transition to fingertip grip for micro-adjustments. I'm trying to find a good shape for my hands. Do you think something like the Helios II would work well for me? Or would something like the X2H or X2H mini give me more room of in fingertip? Love your videos mate.

    • @Ch4nKyy
      @Ch4nKyy Před 5 měsíci

      I also main claw grip, where I use the right side of the palm to make contact and often transition to fingertip.
      I have small hands and use small mice. My favourite shape is the Hati-S, but the Atlantis Mini I main now is fine as well.
      A few learnings I made:
      -In the past, I used huge mice like the old Deathadder and the G403 for like a decade competitively and while it wasn't optimal, you get used to pretty much anything, so don't stress about it too much.
      - Very flat mice like the Glorious O- are too low for claw grip for me.
      -The only mice that really cause an issue with occasional fingertip grip are mice with a high and wide hump at the back, like the MM711.
      -The grip width on RJN is not really accurate or comparable for everyone. It says that the Atlantis Mini and the Hati S Ace are pretty much identical, but for me the Atlantis Mini feels waaay wider. Might depend on the grip.
      I can't tell you anything about the Helios or X2 family unfortunately.

    You say that bigger companies might be more reliable, but do you have any insights about which companies have support and actually honor their warranty? I've been using Logitech for about 20 years now, got a Superlight 2 directly from them 4 1/2 months ago which has a scroll wheel defect now and they just circle around the same questions for hours, basically ignoring my answers until they cancel the chat. I'm fine with spending 150+ euros on a mouse, but would like to have it last at least 2 years without major problems - something that Logitech the last 5 years / 4 mice wasn't able to.

    Helios II Pro doesn't have slam-click prevention (like it will literally fire if you lift and slam it aggressively) and like RJN mentioned, there are going to be quality issues. My mouse 4 button died in around 25 or so days. Shape is good, though. Never owned an S2 myself. It also has 4K polling for a 13 USD separate dongle (didn't notice a difference on 1khz vs 4khz and I play on 3200 DPI). Paracord cable included was trash but the freebies it comes with and the color-way and design are actually pretty okay. For the price, you have to try it if you've never owned an S2.

I remember the zowie f2k and the g403 I believe were some very comfortable mice for general daily computer use although not for click intensive games I used to play as I was more of a claw grip. I ran the razer abyss, followed by the g302 then finally the G-Pro near the end of my gaming career. Gaming aside... any other suggestions for a comfortable daily mouse, while gaming I did claw-grip but now I wouldn't mind a palm or palm-claw, medium-large hands. Thanks

      Probably the Viper V3 Pro, very safe but still good design, it's fairly big too, kind of similar to the G403 but I'd say more comfortable in a way. But if you want something more like the G403, then the DeathAdder V3 Pro, so you get that asymmetrical design. Both are top tier for gaming too, if you ever do want to jump back in. And if you really jump back into games, then I'd say get something smaller. For comfort though, I'd say larger is better, so check those 2 out.

Pwnage Stormbreaker and Pulsar Xlite V3 are also very good options for G403 alternatives, that'll give you some extra size choice too. I think it would be better to use a 0-100 scale rather than a Top 40 list at this point. For example, the mice with all the best weight/features/quality etc. could be 95-100, the ones that would be top but have some minor issues could be 80-95, the good but maybe slightly outdated mice could be 60-75, and the mice that have too many issues or heavy/weirdly shaped might be below 50.
    It's only a suggestion of course. I just think this would better convey the message that there's not a major difference between the top mice except shape because even though you reiterate this in almost every video, there's still going to be some people who associate "best" with the highest or lowest numbers and 1 being 40 times lower than the bottom of the list might mislead some people.

    I love light mice, but for WoW they don't have enough buttons (except that one from Steelseries, which is unfortunately pretty bad, because the side buttons are so stiff you have to crush the mouse every time you want to press them). I always get back to G502.

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah buttons can add a lot of weight, so if companies are pushing toward that goal, then they most likely won't add them. The SteelSeries one isn't any good? Didn't they come up with an MMO mouse with holes in it? Aerox 9... no good?

    • @Quettesh
      @Quettesh Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@RocketJumpNinja it looks good, but the side buttons are really stiff that it feels like I will crush the mouse while pushing them + they are pretty far forward and I have a short thumb. So far the best solution is 2 mice, G502 for WoW, G Pro X for everything else. Corsair Darkstar is 96g, but I it is not available here (yet) and the difference is not that big in comparison to the new G502 anyway.

      @@wsgacademy5378 I have bad experience with Razer. I had Razer Naga Pro and it spent more time in RMA than on my desk. It always took 1-2s to wake it up from sleep (sometimes moving was not enough and button press was needed), I had to often reconnect the dongle or it started dropping the connection and left button started double clicking in just 4 months (3rd RMA -> refunded).
      Also it is heavier than new G502 (102g), since they don't count AA battery in the mouse weight (96g + AA battery). I'm not considering that to be a light mouse.
      For a short time I had Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed, and it had the same wireless issues - returned in 14 days. Also Razer SW is one of the worst I've ever encountered, even Logitech doesn't force you to sing up with an online account. With G Pro X and G502, I've never had any of these issues, waking from sleep is immediate (like they were not in sleep mode at all) and the SW is not perfect, but not as annoying as Razer's.

    I don't like the trend of wireless mice and how some companies are giving them priority, but thankfully we have Razer and Endgame Gear who don't forget the preferences of their users, the only wired Logitech mouse is the new G502, all the others are wireless. Lately I'm liking the ergonomic mice that are inspired by the EC2 or the mythical Microsoft intelligent mouse, but I'd like it to be smaller, I'm waiting for a Deathadder V3 mini or a Pulsar elite V3 mini. I wish Endgame Gear has an ergo mouse (EC) with its analogue technology, pcb specifically for the switches like in the Logitech GPRO, an mcu that allows 8000hz, and a thin cable that Zaunkoenig has implemented in its new M3K would be perfection.

    • @Xaero_ZRX-33
      @Xaero_ZRX-33 Před 5 měsíci +1

      I forgot to add an ultra-low profile design to the front of the mouse like on the Xtrfy M8 and the new Cherry Xtrfy M68 and M64 mice.

      @@Xaero_ZRX-33 I hated wireless tech my entire life.
      My Xbox Controllers often randomly disconnect and the only fix is to restart the PC.
      My headset sometimes randomly disconnects for 2 seconds.
      I still remember the first wireless mice 20 years ago that were laggy and heavy as shit.
      But I finally gave wireless mice a second chance and I was astonished how well they work today and how awesome, free and light it feels without a cable!
      It's funny to me that you value 8khz over wireless. The majority of FPS pros still use 1khz.
      Usually, I am highly sensitive to FPS and input delay and I have a 360hz monitor and ~600FPS in CS2. I can tell the difference between 120hz and 240hz 10/10times, but I cannot feel the difference above 1khz polling.

      Still got it and it's going well, but it's on my testing PC now, while my main usage / gaming PC has the Corsair 45" OLED. The Samsung has a few annoying things about it, but overall still great fun to use, I just wanted something bigger and ultrawide, and OLED.

    Hi! What mouse would you recommend for me? Using an xlite v2 mini rn (i prefer the gpx scrollwheel but mouse buttons of xv2 felt much better). Mice I have used before: gpx (didnt like the hump), glorious model o- (broke lmao). Hand length is around 16cm and width is 8.4cm. I use a palm claw grip and usually just play valorant and casual games on my pc. Trying to find a lighter mouse that I can try out^^

      Razer don't have one for me and I don't really want to spend 400 Australian Dollars on a mouse that's going to sit in a box after I put a lot of time into reviewing it... if they send me one, sure, I'll take a look. But I'm not spending money on it, especially that much.

    I didn't use the OP1we yet, but I could imagine it is quite similar to the Lamzu Atlantis Mini that I use right now.
    The Atlantis has more aggressive curvature, but I like that.
    My hands are 18x9 and I use anything from fingertip to claw. The mouse could even be a few mm shorter and thinner.

    Xtrafi doesn't work with some Linux distros reliably. And they won't make a firmware fix cause they didn't make it for linux. So I cannot bother with that brand anymore. I got your first design from them. And I liked it. But it fails at gaming in Linux.
