      Hey man
      How've you found it folding the new polymor notes? - about to purchase one to replace a note sleeve - but a bit worried about folding the plasticy notes and that ruining the line of the wallet / looking messy when spending
      Cheers !

    QOTD: ⚡Was there a wallet you didn't like the first time you saw it or used it, but ended up liking it and if so why?

    • @Richard_Barnes
      @Richard_Barnes Před 4 lety +2

      I had to think hard about this question. I don’t think I have Mark. I tend to like them instantly or dislike them later after trying them out. Trayvax is one example. I love them, the design, what they stand for, etc, however after using them for only days, I got fed up of the metal bits poking everywhere. Never touched them since.

    • @erikkalifornia5182
      @erikkalifornia5182 Před 4 lety +1

      @@Richard_Barnes I love my trayvax contour as well, but I agree there are times i get frustrated with it. A recent example was trying to get to a specific credit card at the gas station. I found it took me forever (relative to other wallets) to get the card i needed out of the contour. When i got to work, i loaded up my Stow. Card access is a breeze... It doesn't look as cool, and i don't get any leather with it, which i love. But man this thing is functional, with minimal footprint.. Plus it carries business cards, which i still use.

    Thanks for the thorough reviews, I recently bought this based on this review and it's great. I downsized from a full sized wallet after realizing I never use most of my cards, coins or cash. So much easier to use and carry. This one is perfect for what I need, 5 cards and a couple of bank notes tucked away for the rare occasion I need actual cash.

  • @erikkalifornia5182

    Thanks for getting back to my beloved Slim Sleeve! It sat too long at the lowly 30. New score is much more fitting! While I have temporarily moved on from the slim sleeve, now carrying the stow 8 card holder or my Ti contour, i'm sure i'll end up back in the slim sleeve in the future. For me, it sits as King of all leather wallets.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 4 lety +1

      The design has been quickly copied by competitors which demonstrates how well it works. I know the thinness of the leather split is what contributes to it's success, but I sometimes wish it was a bit thicker (better weight). But the Aurochs Gravity did that and it's just a tad too bulky.

    Its feature should still be 3.
    It is bifold but the user still needs to fold the cash once which will then force the user to remove their whole lump of cash just to find one or two notes that they want.
    It is understandable if it is NOT bifold. Plus there is no place there is no quick access card slot.

      @@walletopia Thanks to your videos I now have a new favorite! I've used the Bellroy SS for 2 days and have to agree, it's a solid choice. Super soft, well constructed, and very functionally laid out. Hardly thicker than my card holders when stuffed. The fold-over design does away with any worry the cards may fall out. It also overcomes the glaring fault with card holders; that no matter how nice you think your $500 Vuitton is, an assortment of ugly credit cards will make it look about as good as seeing your boxers over your belt-line. The slim-sleeve's footprint is actually smaller than my cardholders too, something I didn't think possible. Open tab for thumb to work a card out. Pull tab for those once a year cards. What a great layout. Thanks for steering me right!

    I loved this wallet till I lost mine and bought a Note Sleeve as a replacement. Works very well for a slim, low-profile carry. Shame it doesn't do so well with Asian bills - anything over a tenner struggles to fit.

      @walletopia  Před 4 lety

      Yes, the cash conundrum. If it gets bigger to accommodate larger bill sizes then it begins to cut into part of the appeal of the wallet. They could sell an "international" version and probably do well.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, the only thing I would likely change is my comment about the zipper being hampered at the apex when closing and how that affected the usability score. Moving that from a 2 to a 3 (working as expected) would raise the score from a 33 to a 36. That was my fault, but otherwise, I do like the Card Pocket.
