Performed on December 19th, 2015, the Alchemical Theatre Laboratory in New York City, Deep Space Survival Procedure and Protocol was the first live performance of Wolf 359. Featuring all the principal cast members performing a never-before-heard script, this show was the culmination of the first two years of Wolf 359. We are - at long last - happy to make our recording of the show available for public consumption, in both video and audio-only formats!
Set during the events of Episode 26, Do No Harm, Deep Space Survival Procedure and Protocol covers the events of one madcap day in the life of the Hephaestus crew. It's been a rough few months for Communications Officer Eiffel. He's dealt with plant monsters, the reappearance of a not-so-presumed-dead captain, and a super-virus that's still chilling in his circulatory system. But he's about to face his biggest challenge yet: when a mysterious noise from the comms console causes the crew to question his abilities, will Eiffel be able to solve the mystery, keep his sanity, and get everyone else to cut him some slack? Plus, normal weird signals, voodoo pulled pork, all of the air bubbles, and the importance of chit-chat.

I love how the actors use the music stands to establish their characters. Minkowski and Hera are professional and no nonsense as they plant their stands to hold their scripts, Loveless kicks the door in and marches in wielding her stand like it's a club to bludgeon someone with before slamming it down. Cutter politely asks someone to excuse him before he condescendingly flicks their notes off of the stand and takes it for his own. It's a great little touch.

Update: I have come to the conclusion that Hilbert managed to turn himself invisible in a lab accident just for this episode. However, any tactical advantage this might've granted would also require him to be completely naked because his clothing did not turn invisible with him, and Hera can pick up heat signatures, so it was all kind of a moot point anyway and everyone just agreed to never speak of it again.

+Zach Valenti It was definitely a wonderful distraction, though the "well-deserved" part remains up to my profs' discretion. As for the next couple episodes... Wow. Season three really takes it to a whole 'nother level. The new characters are fantastic and add an element of immediate, not-explicitly-but-could-potentially-be life and death danger that's different from the kind the Hephaestus crew have experienced previously. Mayday was, in my opinion, especially amazing, and its suspenseful, The-Martian-esque battle for survival brought a deeper dimension to Eiffel's character. From a technical standpoint, the episode was also very impressive, particularly in the layering of the audio tracks to show the passage of time. It left me wondering, though---do you guys buy all of the sound effects for the show? Or do you do some of your own Foley, as well?
