I have applied for CERN summer student program. I am currently doing MSc in Electrical engineering. My main specialization is Embedded system. But I don't have any work experience. I have done some projects on Verilog coding which I have mentioned in the CV and I have also mentioned the skills in the CV. Do I have the chance to get intern there?
It's always hard to say about the chances. All one can do is work, gain experience, get good recos, and hope for best. Sometimes even really good candidates don't get selected. That's just because of the low acceptance rate. But one doesn't have to restrict themselves just to CERN, there are many good organisations/colleges/companies/startups who would appreciate your skill set.
Does the statement "A 92 CHF per calendar day" imply that I must initially cover my accommodation costs, and then I will receive 92 CHF daily as compensation? Or will they provide the sum on a monthly basis (92*30), and will this allowance be disbursed from the outset or at the end of the period? This information is critical for me to understand.Thank you

What according to you should a potential Computer Science student sustain in order to get accepted for the program?
It varies, data analysis and algorithmic skills mostly but could also be simulation related, coding skills in Python or C++ is a plus.

do you think I am eligible if my studies are not related to IT (medical lab science) but I have experience with programming in grade 12?
I don't want to discourage but the experience in programming should be more than that involved in high school since other applicants do programming even in their undergrad. Also CERN does medical physics, but not particularly medical lab related stuffs.

I don't think there's much work related to metallurgy going on at CERN. Material science yes.

No, I think its difficult since there isn't any biological sciences work going at CERN afaik, unless its in radiation science/proton therapy.

It's not specifically open to Chemical engineering but one can still apply for other streams given he/she has some skills that can be used of transferred from Chem Eng.
