I have to present an important event from history for class today. Most people have heard of the stonewall riots but dont know anything beyond that point. I wanted to present about it but I wanted the information and resources to come from other queer people not the New York times on any other magazine of the type. Thank you for making this video it helps a lot and as a black queer trans guy it’s invaluable to know our history, thank you!

also gosh i just. this series man it makes me so happy, especially because i always think, and i always wonder, "who was the first to do this, how did we get here in a time where i can openly wear a pride flag on my wall and gay shirts and have a vibrant pride icon? who paved the colorful path for my right to live this way?"
and so you answer with this series.....at least, partly since this is after all only a teeny chunk of the history of the community, but still a great chunk. thank you for creating this series!!

I really love this series but may I suggest that you try to have your audio even throughout the video? For example, whenever you have a musical interlude, the music is significantly louder than your narration audio, even sometimes too loud. Other than that, I really enjoy this series and hope to see more.

It would be so boring if the Mattachine had won.
The concept of liberation, not assimilation and not segregation, is so important. We're not fighting for gay wall street or something, not trying to just carve out our own precarious niche in the bourgeoisie. We're gonna overthrow it all instead. Not saying that's how everyone thinks, there are many different political programs in the LGBT community. I think it's good to argue and talk about it.

There were also 'Drag Queens' at Stonewall and at all Gay bars and nightclubs.
Not all Gay Men wearing women's clothes were considered Trans. They called themselves
Drag Queens. In the past the abbreviated word Trans. also used to be short for the old term, 'Transvestite' an old label used by Doctors to label/describe Men that liked to dress up in Women's clothing. We call them Drag Queens.

Harry and draco from the "Harry Potter" series? Seems unlikely. Harry has always had the hots for Hermione.
Wow so much I didn't know!! This is a fantastic series. It also highlights how even within the same community there can be infighting and a difference of direction. That kind of internal conflict just holds the whole community back. For example I know a number of gay people that want the T dropped from LGBT or more recently lesbians that dislike (sorry hate) MtF people. There's also a lot racism within the gay community and considering how POC had a lot to do with LGBT progress it's always sad to see.
