Riverview PK-8: Thompson School District

As the largest project in Thompson’s successful 2018 bond election, community buy-in and transparency of process was critical for success. To kick off the entire project, an Innovation Day was held by the district, Wold Architects and Engineers and FCI Constructors. This broad visioning session helped define a vision for the project and build excitement across the District.
The design of the Riverview PK-8 School successfully embodies the shared vision developed through Innovation Day and multiple other community meetings and input processes. Four key goals consistently emerged from the voices of parents, staff, students and other stakeholders:
Nature: Reinforce connections to our place and the natural environment
Mind: Stimulate curiosity and serve as a learning tool
Community: Create and support large and small layers of community within the larger school
Flexibility: Provide flexible learning environments to encourage collaboration and adapt to changes in teaching and learning
