One of the things interesting with this series is the connection with Hammer Films. Many of the directors - Val Guest, Roy Ward Baker, Freddie Francis were regulars on the Hammer Horror movies. I would like to know more about how this series came about
A remake of the episode from the 1954 Series starring Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes, H Marion Crawford as Doctor Watson and in the episode, The Case of Harry Crocker, Eugene Deckers as Harry Crocker.
I never could watch much of the Ronald Howard series even though done by the same producer - Sheldon Reynolds. This series was done much better. Inspector Lastrade appeared very seldom in Doyle's writings. These Hollywood productions always seem to hide the background errors by fog and darkness. As a fact, London sees fog about as often as most places. But I do like how this series gives Dr. Watson a serious role, unlike the silliness of the Rathbone/Bruce 1940s versions. And I like how this series doesn't place the time in WW2 - seeing that Doyle, Holmes, or Watson most likely never road in a car, airplane, and never heard the word "Nazi." Doyle's last publication of the Holmes' stories was 1927 - long before Hitler was "THE" Hitler we all know.
Inura Facititia London may well not have as much fog, or smog, but in Victorian times it was more prevalent. Even during the sixties we were going to school in thick fog. It was the effects of the industrial revolution. But you’re right about Hitler though. We have been sold the propaganda.
It's amazing how many times this guy gets away from Lestrade and it's freaking hilarious 😂
These Sherlock Holmes movies are great. Thanks
This Series is excellent.

Written originally by Harold Jack Bloom.
I love this so much, I do ~ but I do miss Eugene Deckers ^_^
Never seen this series before.

Inura Facititia I liked Howard 's Holmes better, but Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes is my favourite
Inura Facititia 1940's fat, stupid Dr. Watson
