- At least six pro-Iran fighters were killed in Syria in Israeli strikes, AFP reported on May 20. The Israeli strikes targeted a Hezbollah stronghold in the Homs region in Syria near the Lebanon border. The attack comes as Iran is mourning the death of President Ebrahim Raisi. Conspiracy theories have linked Israeli spy agency Mossad to the death of Raisi. However, an Israeli official told Reuters that Tel Aviv was not involved in the death of Raisi. I call it BS, Israel has absolutely no purpose to solve by eliminating Iranian president, president of Iran really does not control that much power, the power lies with supreme leader and Raisi was the next candidate for becoming supreme leader but the son of current supreme leader is also in line to take his place. I could be wrong but the way I see it it is some sort of internal power struggle. Here are things to consider
1. The president took an old chopper to go to the place and took a longer route of ~700 kilometers instead of direct ~500 kilometer route.
2. Why chopper was taken when the route was so long.
3. The chopper itself was very old and was maintained by knock off Chinese parts and was not in good condition.
4. What led to the violation of the protocol that 4 high profile people were in the same chopper.
