Drifters is an anime series created by Hoods Entertainment, which aired from October 7, 2016, to December 29, 2016. The show is set in a parallel world in which unknown historical and fictional figures from the past and present have been summoned to fight each other in an eternal struggle for power. The main characters of the series are Shimazu Toyohisa, a samurai from the Warring States period of Japan; Murasaki, an elf and member of the Octobrist Organization; and Yoichi, a great archer from the Warring States period. They form a group of drifters, traveling through time to visit different places and fight the supernatural entities known as the Ends. Throughout the series, they are joined by allies such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Nasu no Yoichi, an onmyōji, and myriad other historic and fictional figures. Together they experience an alternate version of history and battle a mysterious organization bent on conquering both our world and theirs.
