I'll read a different book with you guys every month in discord. check it out!

I definitely agree!!! Half of why I started my Booktube channel was so that what happened when I read Stormlight Archive wouldn't happen again. (I could not stop talking about it and no one I know in real life has read it. I ended up only being able to scream at a screen about it) 😊😊😊
Lolol yup. That is the best part of having a booktube channel lol. There are a lot of stormlight channels around booktube
Great video! I need to start this sometime this year, but I'm not sure exactly when :D
Yay! Hopefully you like some of the other Sanderson books as well 😃
This was an excellent case for reading Sanderson. I think this is another one of those series that sounds way more complicated when describing it than it actually is, which is especially true thanks to Sanderson's writing style. No one should feel intimidated to pick this up. Sanderson's heavy exposition was not a huge turn-off when reading Way of Kings, but I did get tired of those interruptions in Rhythm of War. I still greatly enjoyed my experience with each Stormlight book!
Yay! Yes, I get more sick of the overexploitation of things in some of the later books, but it's good for people new to the world 🌎
It's impossible not to explain the cosmere and not confuse people, but it's not that complicated lol. Maybe everyone's just bad at explaining it in a basic way. I went with the Marvel example to try to make it sound pretty easy and accessable.
@@gregorylaperche5574 I should mentioned earlier, but yes, your Marvel example was excellent! I always think Sanderson would be great for those who love playing video games and want to get into fantasy. His expositions feel like video game tutorials, and while tutorials are not always the most fun, you can always expect a strong payoff.
Oh yes! Those tutorials are boring and important 😂 a good tutorial that takes a little longer is better than not knowing what you're doing
I enjoy the explanations. They didn’t take me out of the story. I’ve only read the first 2 books. Looking forward to the rest of them. Great video!
Mhm, I like them too almost all the time. Rhythm of war was great, and I'm super happy I read it shortly after it came out 😃
Agree!
I really want to get to SA this year. I might read Warbreaker and Elantris between it and Mistborn, but I have enough Mistborn to keep me busy for a while. 😁 In the meantime, I am slowly building my Sanderson collection.
Yay! It takes a while to get through all that, but it is worth it. It's probably worth it to read Mistborn Warbreaker and Elantris before SA.
I will get to it this year!!! I swear! Lol I’m half way through a different series but after I’ll be starting this one.
Yay! That's awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on any Sanderson book 😃
I'm going to be reading this series later this year
That's awesome! It's worth the time investment in my opinion.
Can't wait to read these novels, maybe after Mistborn.
Mhm. You can also read Warbreaker or Elantris if you just want a standalone 😃
@@gregorylaperche5574 I will definitely do that. Aldo found novellas by him called Stephen Leeds.
@@davidsbookreviews4983 interesting, will check out.
So, I started reading Sanderson this year, and I’m not feeling super positive after reading Elantris and Warbreaker. I am going to continue to read Mistborn, but I’ve been debating on reading Stormlight. I am a VERY plot driven reader, and hearing you talk about the mini climax makes me SO much more interested in reading them. If I decide to start it, it’ll be in September.
Sounds good. Yes, I think if you like Mistborn, you will like Stormlight. There is definitely enough plot in Stormlight to make them feel shorter than they actually are.
@@gregorylaperche5574 Awesome. I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
Booo, bring back the first thumbnail! (and Abby's Dad).
I am like Allen ( at least like he was a few months ago) I haven't read any Sanderson. But you kind of got me, sounds less intimidating and the Marvel comparison sold it. Good one, Sir LaPerche.
Yay! Allen read Mistborn and loved it, so you can definitely follow in his footsteps 😃
Why am I here?! I know what you think about Sanderson and the Stormlight Archive! 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't know the books were set on different worlds, though. I thought it was just one sequel after another after another.
So the Stormlight archive is all set on one world, and some of his other books are set on different worlds in the same fantasy universe. Uh oh, did I explain this poorly in the video 😭
@@gregorylaperche5574 No, that's what I meant. The book... trilogies? Are set on different worlds. I thought it was 10+ books all featuring the same cast on the same world.
So the 4 (eventually to be 10) Stormlight Archive books will be on one planet. The Mistborn books are on a separate planet. Warbreaker and Elantris are stand alones and each have their own planet.
@@gregorylaperche5574 I read Marvel comics all out of order. Perhaps I'll do that here, too. 🤣
I'm on words of radiance
Awesome 😎
@@gregorylaperche5574 😎
I realllyyy need to pick up a Sanderson novel
Do it! It was the best choice I made in 2020
Yes I will read Way of Kings Andy or Gregory or whatever name your going by now.
Just give me time
Awesome! Do it- Kermit
Oh, and I look forward to the video you make 5 months from now with the same title 😂
@@gregorylaperche5574 Are you seriously suggesting that I will have read all 4 SA book in 5 months time!? Thats delusional!
@@AbbySalter Perhaps you won't. 5 months is my prediction for you. You will start in March and be done in July. There is no rush though, this is just my prediction based on how much you seem to like Sanderson, and how you finished your Mistborn reread in 2 months. Regardless of when you finish, I predict a video with this title from you lol
@@gregorylaperche5574 I just wonder what I can add to the Sanderson discussion as so many people already make such amazing Cosmere content.
I'm planning a slow approach with the cosmere based on the publication scehdule of the rerelease of the UK hardbacks. I believe Word of Radiance comes out in September.
Currently 154 pages in and loving Kaladin's story! :)
Yay! Yes, everyone loves Kaladin. You'll see a lot of him in the flashbacks. I love Shallan and the third main character too!
Oo yesssss
Why you should read STormlight ARchives- " It is amazing" that is all
Hahaha after I filmed the video, I realized I forgot to talk about how amazing the books are and just talked about why people shouldn't be intimidated 😂
Yasss, def not intimidating books (even tho i found them v intimidating when i first read lol)
Me too. It's probably why I made this video 😂
I’ve just started reading through the Cosmere books and was still kind of dreading getting to these books, but this actually makes me feel a bit better about it! Thank you, sir ☺️
Yay! If you like other Sanderson books, you'll love this!
What?! You’re not Andy 🧐🤨
You got me 😂
