Hey, everybody! I was actually planning to upload this video a while ago but then BTS had their comeback and I was like, oh I should wait a bit more because idols will dance to BS&T now so I should include them too. ^.^
Please don't hesitate to tell me in the comments if there is some group/idol that I didn't include and, if possible, please give me the link to the respective video.
So yeah, the third part is finally here, I hope you'll enjoy this one too! :)

Oh, and for "I need u" and "Run" I used the Japanese versions because I wanted to show the choreography which couldn't be seen in the Korean ones. :)
Also, I wanted to ask you guys, is the intro too long? I mean, as they have more and more comebacks, I will include each of them there so the intro gets longer and longer, I tried to keep it as short as possible though ^^' But yeah, I'm still planning to keep it for the future videos because I think it's a pretty nice idea, especially for people that don't know BTS or their songs that well. :) Should I try to make it shorter, does it bother you guys? Please tell me what you think in the comments.

There was a photo on twitter earlier of that boys24***(i wrote pentagon at first lol) with bts and it was so jarring to see.... yoongi had his arms around 2 of them like he was their rich uncle at a family gathering or something lmao.... and it was so weird - i could've sworn it was only yesterday that bangtan were rookies + talking about all the senior groups they look up to 😭😭 but now they're the seniors and there's all these young groups who see bangtan as their idols/heroes now instead.... our kids are all grown up 😭😭😭😭

Meepmerp 101 I'm not talking about Billboard rankings I'm talking about digital streams on Korean charts which girlgroups dominate as Koreans prefer girlgroups with cute and catchy songs I need you still has most digital streams and downloads on Korean music sites among all bts songs blood sweat and tears is still new so maybe it can surpass I need you . tbh bts still needs public recognition if their songs are to do well inside korea that's why we still can't win against a strong digital girlgroup on music shows we are always lacking in that aspect

I like how the groups that do the covers manage to add their own style and make it their own. Take Astro for example, no they may not look exactly like Bangtan but you can definitely see their style they've implemented into the choreography so that it suits them. Even Bangtan themselves have done this too. For another example, in the demo version of Fire the dancers were Keone Madrid's team simply doing the choreography, but when BTS do it, it's loosened up, it's not as stiff as the demo because they found a way to make the choreography suit them and I think that's pretty cool

Honestly, Astros bts covers are the only bts covers i respect. No disrespect meant towards everyone else whose done full dance covers tho. I just see the same passion for the music that bts has in astro. Its not just copying the moves, Astro just gets it. I hope they go far.

What company is ASTRO from? is it a small one? I think a lot of groups from smaller companies look up to BTS bc they're from a small company and have basically done the impossible, e.i. succeeded even though they aren't from the big three

Our boys have come so far
I love how nearly all these groups are already in Pump it Up Prime 2 (Gfriend, I.O.I., EXID) and previous PIU games (Orange Caramel) and yet BTS is still not there (not even EXO is in that game) and yet here they are dancing/singing to BTS
covers are always such a useful analytic tool - sometimes to appreciate really top notch performances, you have to expose yourself to mediocre ones to see what sets the top performances apart. These covers by Astro and Neoz School are great in that sense - they obviously know the choreo well and are trained dancers, but the difference between their performances and the original are so stark sometimes it doesn't even look like the same choreo.
The things that many mediocre performances have in common is rushing, lack of dynamics and a "staccato", or clipped feel to the moves, as if the moves were one long checklist and they're like "hit that, next!" instead of actually really showing each move. Like, Astro's performance of war of hormone - they rush through one of the most memorable points in the choreo - when they do a half turn with a leg in front passe (on the "oi" of "yoja neun choigo oi" and "neun" of "chincha nae sowoneun" - sorry, don't know how to properly romanize Korean). It's an awesome moment of suspension in an otherwise pretty fast, bouncy dance, when they are just slowly turning on an axis, but they just step right out of it and don't milk the moment at all.
For Neoz School, it's the move on "ue" from "I need u, girl, ue?" - it's like the signature move of the dance, so I really wish they could have done it more mindfully, but it should be a movement that stretches and leans towards something like you're trying to reach it but you never grasp it (as befitting the feel of the song), but they do it more like a hit, a static pose, and that just removes the poignancy from the moment.
[From here on is a disclaimer I feel compelled to put to hopefully ward off any immature responses that conflate critique with insulting or bashing. If you're not that immature type of person, feel free to stop reading...]
Before I get any bashing, of course I get that they're rookies and they are not the original so of course they won't perform it as well as BTS. Criticism does not equal insult or hate. I am guilty of everything I wrote above, and people are always telling me to fix these issues, so I am not trying to put anyone down. Anyone in the performing arts will get what I mean - the points are subtle and amorphous, but these slight differences make a huge impact, especially when done as a group, and you'll never stop getting feedback and criticism because performing arts are a non-ending strive for technical perfection and deepest artistic expression, and if you don't approach it with that attitude, you're not going to go far.
