Hey Greg! yes indeed! I like a lot for soundscaping, but I am still learning the algorithms. I do prefer v1.6 firmware with pitch shifting over drive, but I haven't experimented enough with how much audio to feed it when I want a slow pace. Next week sometime before Wednesday (most likely) I will have a Lyra-8 in hand. Then I'm taking a break from selling and buying kit so I can sit down with the Cosmos and Lyra combo. I will still get a Pulsar-23 this year if possible, but for now I am standby lol. I plan on recording a bunch of experimentation/sound exploring videos through this process. I have some instrument pairings I want to test with some extra utilities+effects and I think it'd be kind of cool to record the process. I just need to think about how to structure the videos lol Thanks for watching!
Oh man, the Soma kit is phenomenal. Best acquisitions I have made, and there is more coming. Eventually, I'd like to own the SOMA instrument lineup and work with that. They just resonate with me and I really enjoy them. Lyra-8 is should be in my desk sometime next week, and I'll be spending some time experimenting with gear Combos and sound exploring the Lyra. I'm considering doing a 30 day challenge with a piece of gear or a small combo and force myself to create with a limited rig. I'm thinking Lyra-8, Cosmos, and a strega+RoAT for one of my starting combos
Thanks, Marcus! It's definitely not my typical sound, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Ultimately, the goal is film scoring, so I have to dabble outside of my normal zone haha
@@AbyssalPantheon My pleasure Jordan. Music is one of the means to express our emotions. You have to play what helps you find satisfaction. I find this track really beautiful, and it's perfect as a soundtrack!!!
Thanks, Jon. This is definitely outside of my normal tone palette, but I think it still sounded nice. Truth be told, I don't record in major scales typically, but this cosmos is great to test out some ideas with.
Same here! I am really looking forward to working with the Lyra, Cosmos, and strega next week. I also have a piezo activated percussion monosynth that I'm gonna bring back into the mix to test with the cosmos lyra combo. The Cosmos shines som much more with 2 mono inputs over a stereo synth
Some very beautiful harmonic movement and texture. Having done lo-fi ambient/experimental music, I always appreciate you more hi-fi modular wizards who do it well.
Thanks for watching! This piece was primarily just a couple of VST's being fed into the SOMA Cosmos (blue unit). The Cosmos itself is an excellent soundscaping tool. I am glad you enjoyed the texture and harmonic content! I am primarily a drone artist/impressionist, and texture and audio fidelity are the principal focus for the pieces I like making, I am stoked you clued in on that aspect. I really appreciate your the time you spent listening to this!
@@AbyssalPantheon I don’t get out much these days to explore new artists, but Marcus is a good friend and recommended you, and glad he did. I still have a parallel ambient channel, which I hope to revive somewhat. Keep up the fine work and I’ll check in periodically to see what you’re up to.
@SongsforSleepwalkers let me check out your channel, and I will sub! Marcus is an incredible artist, and I am glad I we met each other. I'm excited to see your work! I had no idea there was a whole community of artists who craft in our sphere, and I cant wait to meet as many artists as I can. Thanks for introducing yourself, and I'll be browsing your work in a little bit!
@@AbyssalPantheon Marcus was one of the first ambient artists I met after starting my Ambient Ideas channel. He is a master of dark ambience and an ongoing influence for me. My Sleepwalkers channel is my songwriter stuff, and you can find a link to my Ambient Ideas channel somewhere in the description section. The ambient community on CZcams is small, but vibrant and generally supportive. Best to you in your journey.
Oooh, Cosmos ! ❤❤ sweet sounds.

great orchestral depth, and expansive visions.
Thanks, Roger!
It's not my usual tone palette, but I had a good time recording it lol
Great soundscapes!
Thanks PBC!
I'm on a recording break at the moment but I'll be back to recording soon :)

@@AbyssalPantheon it’s good to step out of our normal sound. I’ve been so inspired lately by stuff I haven’t touched sonically.
