I’ve been with you since u sold your home and made the move to Idaho. I remember the day Jeremy turned in his police equipment how emotional you both were. It’s been an adventure that has shown me the level of determination you each have. Your family is your strength and you all feed from within that source… your ability to adapt to any unique circumstance leaves me in awe. You are no doubt the strongest family I have ever seen. I’ve grown to love each of you dearly. You’re my brunch companions that I look forward to watching every Saturday. My time with you is easily my favorite day of the week!! Watching each of you grow in every way especially the children restores my faith in humanity with the value of a family unit. It’s unfortunately a dying characteristic that I don’t see enough. In my heart you’re my family that lives in Idaho…I couldn’t love you anymore if we were blood relatives❤️!! I look forward to many years of watching and I hope I’m still around as you reach new milestones in life such as graduations and grandkids. Your home is very beautiful and the "weaning" apartment is a great idea for the older kids. Gives you the abilitymom to still keep the kids close but they are able to spread their wings.

No previous home building experience and you two build this? God given talent right there. I've been doing DIY projects around our homes for 30 + years but if I built a house, it wouldn't look anything like this! Congratulations guys, it's beautiful in all aspects. I'd love to see a video about the inner workings of the house like plumbing, power generations, etc. Thanks for doing all you do!

The only word I can think of for your home is beautiful, it is like a show home. I have watched you build it from start to finish, one doubt I had was how is Melissa going to fill all the cupboards and shelves in the pantry! She did it (smile). I would share videos with my wife as you are a quirky couple, in a good way!, much like we were. My my had many of the same tastes as you Melissa and I would enjoy showing her what you guys were up to and accomplished. Unfortunately, I lost my wife suddenly in October so I can't share this beautiful tour of your home with her but I know she would have absolutely loved it like I do. Also, my wife was an absolute horse but just like you and her happiest moment for you was Knowing you were getting your barn! When my children were growing up I had I called it a utility room or a pantry room similar to yours. I had all my canning on both sides on the shelves and I had a freezer out there but I also had a sewing machine because I did sewing for the kids. When I move from Oregon to Arizona and had a garage sale at my house someone came and bought all of my canned goods and full freezer and I got close to 1200 for both of them.. that was in 1980 so quite a while back. But since I moved to the Southwest I haven't done as much canning because my children are raised I now have grandchildren and great-grandchildren and next week will turn 80 so I don't do all of the canning I used to. You've done a remarkable job on that room you should be very proud of what you do. May God bless and keep you and make his face to shine upon you and give you peace and success in 2024.

The place looks incredible. I can’t believe how amazing it turned out. I love the vaulted ceilings, and all the exposed timbers. That place would make anyone who owns a sawmill stand up and put their hand over their heart.

White cabinets will never go out of style, they are neutral tone, therefore are timeless. It’s more about the style shape/front of the cabinet that you want to make sure are not going to look old with time. Your cabinets are awesome!

Your home is just beautiful! If I were to build a house, I would ask you for your plans 😉 I wouldn't change a thing except maybe having a half bath in each bedroom or at least a small guest bathroom. The fact that you built it yourself is simply amazing.

We are currently building a home in Albany, Oregon. Your kitchen tour has given us a bunch of ideas for ours. We're building our house in a 42' x 62' x 20' Quonset hut on a property with one of our six sons, Spencer, and his wife, Shawna, their four kids and Shawna's grandma. But our farm is a resource for the whole family. Thank you for the channel and the inspiration it provides.

❤loved the tour. I was surprised you're not sold on the undercounter microwave. My favorite addition to my kitchen when we remodeled in 2020. It is safer for youngsters, no hot food up over their heads. Also great for older folks, like me, not having it over my glass top stove.

You both should feel great at building this mostly yourself its taken time but the outcome is fabulous. The house and now the garage self-supporting little house above is really looking great and with the big workshop and new stable/barn it's really a great place to live and bring up your wonderful family where many memories can be made . Looking forward to seeing the little nest being finished above the garage . And it's set in beautiful countryside surrounded by mountains. Very enjoyable video thank you so much for the tour .

I fully agree - drawers in the cabinets is a must. With conventional shelfs you soon loose control over the contents.

my dad was a carpenter/kitchen wizard - a lot of homes in southern Saskatchewsan had his handiwork showcased. He built my mom the exact same concept - pull out drawers and shelves for pots and pans - over 50 years ago. Mom was also very short, so part of her kitchen counter top was dropped for her baking area. Stand up dividers for cookie sheets come in handy too! We also had an office area as part of the kitchen/dining room - a large desk with multiple drawers on each side of the sitting area. A customized kitchen is a real blessing
