It's because it's not autotuned and overly loud! I stopped watching after Blaine's beautiful piano cover of Katy Perry because it made me realise what was missing the whole time. Realness.
I love the fact that Blaine wore Kurt's favorite turtle neck for moral support since Kurt was unable to watch him perform due to being in the hospital. I just love Blaine. He's my all-time favorite Glee character.

This is blaines best song, not even cough syrup, not teenage dream, this is so pure and raw and beautiful
The only thing I can think about during this song is Blaine getting that call from the hospital and his heart dropping to the bottom of his chest when they told him what happened and him running as fast as he could to the hospital.

@@thetalkpodcast4914 no need to apologise! it's from sweeney todd, a musical where a barber (sweeney todd) comes back from a false prison sentence and goes on a revenge quest by killing people with his razors. his barbershop is above "mrs lovett's meat pie shop" so,,,,, the meat for her pies is provided that way.
one scene a boy they've hired, toby, becomes suspicious of sweeney and wants warn mrs lovett about him, unaware that she is also in on the deal. toby starts singing her this song as he has come to see her as a mother figure and he wants to protect her, but she dismisses his claims and starts singing the song to him instead to calm him down, only to continue to lock him in the cellar with the oven and all the meat.
so with that context, this song gives a false sense of security more than anything else

For those of you who haven't seen Sweeney Todd, you HAVE to watch it. It's a Tim Burton musical and it rocks.
It is a Stephen Sondheim musical.
the stage production is a lot more elaborate, they cut out most of johanna for the movie and they took away the choir (also it's a stephen sondheim musical, burton just adapted it)
They also took out the entire opening sequence that was in the stage musical, which was, in my opinion a terrible idea because I love that song and it sets the tone/plot for the rest of the show.@@quecksilvereyes8750
