      Let us also not forget the various questions where the game is essentially testing our resolve to keep going and if we truly find meaning in what we do. "Do you want to give up here?" "Do you think games are just silly little things?" "Do you think there is any meaning to this story?" I didn't mind the tears streaming down my face as I was booted back to the questions again and again and every time I chose to stay and persevere. Then I got that question, accepted the help and remember feeling like I was a child again, finding out the joys of playing alongside others in online multiplayer. Thing is, I'm not too big on competitive, but I love playing cooperative games. And so in the end, I felt I could make no other choice but give help where I have also received. Agreed. Whilst Hades did rule over the underworld (which did include Tartarus, the closest the Greeks got to Hell), he was typically not the Devil as Judeo-Christian religions would define the role. Accounting for Tartarus, that realm is where the truly "sinful" characters were punished, but they were extreme cases (Tantalus, Ixion, etc.) who were usually punished by OTHER gods. Hades basically regulated a land of shades.

Soyou can shoot your camera drone into a black hole, and very briefly you'll see two drones. If you manage to turn off said black hole at the correct time, you have two camera drones... and then existence crumbles.
    And then later, you find another black hole that allows you to do this with YOURSELF, resulting in you meeting with yourself in a time loop and freaking out over the damage you're inevitably doing to existence by being in two places at once. Dialogue options include the ability to simply scream at each other in all caps.

    the one thing i hated abut CP2077 is the ending could of been magical but they never even tried to attempt it, if any one dares to remember that Jackie inserted the chip into his head before V so the potential to have Jackie's consciousness back up on the chip that would come back at the end to be the one to help you take down Arasaka would of been an awesome way to just round off the whole story

    • @JeoshuaCollins
      @JeoshuaCollins Před rokem +3

      The Chip isn't Soul Killer, so his Engram isn't backed up just because he had the chip in him for a few seconds. V's consciousness isn't even backed up from having The Relic installed in them for (presumably) months or weeks. You have to storm Mikoshi in order to get your own consciousness scanned with the help of the greatest of AI's who is literally the creator of Soul Killer.
      If you send Jackie to Vic tho, Arasaka takes his body and puts him through Soul Killer to find out what he knows. He's too far gone tho and his consciousness is somewhat... broken... He's literally there in the ending sequence, too. What fragments are left, anyway.
      But honestly, thinking that Cyberpunk 2077 could have even dreamed of having an uplifting ending is really a misunderstanding of the entire genre. It's not a Science Fiction story where Good triumphs over Evil.
      It's basically Cthulhian Horror, but instead of tentacle monsters and elder gods from beyond space, it's cyborgs and megacorporations. The core question is LITERALLY "Quiet Life, or Blaze Of Glory". Winning is never on the table.

      @@robertsears8323 A lot of the endings tie into your (shortened) life path choice at the beginning. So, for example, if you chose to be an outcast Nomad coming to Night City, riding off into the sunset with Panam and the Aldecados is considered a "good" ending because you finally found a Nomad family again... Even if you're going to die, eventually. It's all about the journey and not the destination. However, if you want a "good" ending where you live, supposedly, choose to let Johnny take over your body and it cuts to him either taking a bus out of Night City to restart his extended life in your body, or coming into Night City on a bus to do the same. The point is, you're already dead, but he can carry on in your body until it wears out, eventually.

    My favorite secret ending is probably the "Memory Lane" ending from Chrono Trigger. The window to get it is vanishingly small, and it's arguably even sillier than the Dream Project ending.

    • @Astraeus..
      @Astraeus.. Před 2 lety

      To be fair though, like 7 or 8 of the possible endings are set within similarly tiny windows. It's made even more complicated because most of the time those points are set somewhat awkwardly between points where the natural progression of the story takes you, but where you probably wouldn't think "hey why don't I just backtrack all the way to that stupid bucket and see if smacking Lavos RIGHT NOW matters".
      And ALL of that is (or rather was) made even more difficult due to the game coming out before the internet was really even something people had, much less could be used to access information as easily as it is now...
      That said, Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite video game, and has been since the first time I played it back in 1996 (was busy with Breath of Fire II & Final Fantasy VI in 95, CT had to wait in line). I have copies of it on PS1, Android, and Steam, legitimately, while also having the emulated versions for SNES and DS (which, frankly, is the best version of the game IMO). I play through the game (by which I mean from scratch, through several NG+'s, until all characters are completely maxed and I'm satisfied) at least once every couple years, and have been doing so for 20+ years now....

      @@Astraeus.. Oddly, FAQs and walkthroughs were a lot higher quality in the 90s and early 2000s than they were at any point afterwards. Sometimes they were written by developers, other times just by dedicated fans - the ones on GAMEFAQS were often 70+ paragraphs long, much more in the case of games like final fantasy 12.
      I guess it's because games are much more mainstream now, and less of a focus for super-nerds and such.

      @@SyndicateOperative It's not just that. People in the last couple generations are just idiots who don't want to read anything without shiny pictures. It's cool that you brought up Final Fantasy, I've got some of the GameFAQ's walthroughs for a couple of them that I printed out back in the day, and yea, they're friggin huge. But that's how it was. I prefer having something physical that I can read when I need to know something, rather than having to dig through CZcams or wtv to find a video that just shows me exactly what to do. I much prefer if I just know what to do and can figure it out the "how" part for myself.
