You'll find it both entertaining and interesting.
Tiresome, TIRESOME is the comparison of these two guys. Both entertainers, different time and different places. Flawed people as all of us. Both good for the time they served. Show me a subsequent rocker who was NOT influenced by Elvis. And show me a physicist who was not influenced by Einstein. And show me an 18-year old bimbo who can make change at a cash register. Now THERE is a disconnect!
Jackie Wilson said: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man’s music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis." And James Brown said: "I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. There’ll never be another like that soul brother."
"John Lennon not only was a much better example as a human being?" LMAO - he was an arrogant, close-minded, antagonistic ass. Elvis meanwhile was a total class act, gracious and a gentlemen. Do you think aliens live in Area 51 too? LOL that is classic
Lennon and Presley were 2 totally different kinds of people with 2 entirely different upbringings. Elvis was raised by both parents in the American south with very deep Christian values while John who was abandoned by his father was raised by his aunt in a cold English seaport city. Lennon who had severe personal insecurity problems "Imagined" no heaven and no God while Elvis who also was shy would often turn to God for guidance. The one big thing they had in common other than Rock n Roll was they were both severely heartbroken at the deaths of their mothers at a young age.
Thank you! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared that with people….don’t forget Elton John, he doesn’t write his songs. Bernie Taupin is his lyricist. Marvin Gaye and Luciano Pavarotti are included in this bunch too.
Elvis was a very good singer. (and handsome). He was important for the popmusic. But he was also stupid. He was not a genius like for example Lennon. He was a simple man with musical genius. thats all.
Me parece que los dos eran geniales. .Lennon aprendio de Elvis, sin duda. La variedad de la musica de Elvis y su interpretacion le hace genial para la eternidad. Genial es su voz. De acuerdo....
Don't know if I would agree with " before elvis thee was nothing" comment by Lennon. I think the problem here with Lennon and all those who think along this line, is probably the color of peoples skin that sang hit after hit after hits. Rock and Roll as you know was already huge before Elvis hit the road to stardom. But it was the white people that boost him up into world fame. Media took over and colored him up as the biggest white attraction since. HMMMM? Let me quess now. Perry Como. Gene Autry. Bing Crosby. How about Frank the Italian stallion himself, Sanatra? Well, anyways. Elvis was sexy and had his own moves style of music and all. I mean, I, too, was an Elvis fan for a time being. His early years that is. But, then again, I sure in the hell was big on Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Platters, Mr. James Brown himself. Lennon didn't know what real music was when he said this. Black music, my friends, was huge. I mean, there wouldn't have been rock n' roll without the great singers of the fifties. The Drifters, the Coasters on and on. Come on. You really want to believe Elvis was the king of rock. Let's get serious white folks. I mean. Really?
Lol how cute when you aim that at white folks, well the fact was that Elvis made quite a change in music,I listen to Chuck berry and I also listen to softer stuff like the ink spots but what Lennon meant was that Elvis made a different type of rock
You have to take into account the times, this was the era when black people in some parts of the country couldn't eat at the same lunch counter or use the same bathrooms as the general population. If things back then were as they are now, then you might say that Elvis was merely the first big white rock'n'roll singer, there were black rock stars before him. But things back then weren't as they are now. There were black singers with mainstream rock'n'roll hits, but there weren't mainstream superstars, at least not yet. Elvis came along and became rock's first big superstar, (Bill Haley had Rock Around The Clock but he looked like a middle aged suburbanite), and it took off from there. Rock'n'roll originated in the black music scene, (it was completely different from what the white mainstream was listening to), but the social conditions were such that it took talented people like Elvis to adopt it and turn it into the dominant form in the mainstream.
lester hayes You really need to get over yourself. You and everyone who thinks like you. You're nowhere near as profound and insightful as you think. No one needs your self-important, pretentious lectures.

you see a re-occurring theme here? all irish american just like elvis. irish are charismatic frontman with one hell of a voice. it goes way deeper then them, the entire american rock n roll scene as well as grundge scene was founded on irish-american front men with men like layne staley and tom petty leading the way.
DJ Jamison Dude you realize that none of these people were purely Irish right? lol, there's millions of people with Italian surnames that are not Italian. But Presley is not Irish though, it's Germanic in origin. But whatever man, have fun with your Irish supremacy lmaooo you drunken Irishmen.
Thats not Lennon! Its Ozzy
Nowhere Boy is a good watch. You'll like this movie. See it for lots of good reasons, especially good performances. The story is somewhat conjecture, but basically, the facts are right. He lived with his aunt. He wondered about his mother. He was angry (as most teens are), but he had ambition and did not squander his time. See the movie. You'll find it both entertaining and interesting.
ELVIS PRESLEY STILL THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL
Lennon looking like Alice Cooper, lol
Tiresome, TIRESOME is the comparison of these two guys. Both entertainers, different time and different places. Flawed people as all of us.
Both good for the time they served. John as a musician and song writer and Elivis' voice,
stage presence, and looks. If ya don't like Elvis, ya Like Lennon, etc, etc. BOLLOCKS.
Both were good, why limit your entertainment choices...JESUS. Get over yourselves and the hippy snobbery already...BORING!
They had nice songs. And IMHO they sounded best when they were sung by Elvis ❤️
Right on!!!!!
Show me a subsequent rocker who was NOT influenced by Elvis. And show me a physicist who was not influenced by Einstein. And show me an 18-year old bimbo who can make change at a cash register. Now THERE is a disconnect!
Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Sister Rosetta to name but a few trailblazers...
Elvis had the charisma, The Beatles had the talent.
it is from the movie called nowhere boy. it is on netflix if you have it!
hope you get to see it
The name of the movie shown is called 'Nowhere boy' great movie
Jackie Wilson said: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man’s music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis."
And James Brown said: "I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother.
Elvis was simply a performer, Lennon was a musician. I could care less about their personalities.
He treated his son like shit and he hit his wives. Pls
John was such an hyprocrite. That´s why he was killed.
Dave Smith
Dave, amo Beatles mas John estava mesmo preocupado era com a Yoko. E Elvis apesar de seus problemas eu o AMO.
Still Elvis and Sir John Lennon Inspires Us ...............all
Elvis forever....
Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Celine Dion, and Sammy Davis did not write any of the songs that they sang.
Thank you! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared that with people….don’t forget Elton John, he doesn’t write his songs. Bernie Taupin is his lyricist. Marvin Gaye and Luciano Pavarotti are included in this bunch too.
Evis the king he had it all the looks John lennon was ugly
except not the talent that John had.
He did right actually and thanks to resinging covers those songs became known thanks to him
Kevin Hensley he had the voice that nobody ever had and it's the only thing that singer must have
Looks don't matter,John and Elvis were both great.
If you look at the shape of someone's head while you're listening to music, I feel sorry for you.
Thank you
Amazing they had the cameras there in 1957 in Liverpool.
Ben Hottinga elvis was the most talented ! He wasnt stuoid hecwas loyal. He sang rock gospel country blues soul and opera
Rock'n'roll originated in the black music scene, (it was completely different from what the white mainstream was listening to), but the social conditions were such that it took talented people like Elvis to adopt it and turn it into the dominant form in the mainstream.
lester hayes
You really need to get over yourself. You and everyone who thinks like you. You're nowhere near as profound and insightful as you think. No one needs your self-important, pretentious lectures.
Elvis forever
Elvis is the greatest.
