    Elvis is such a big inspiration to me! He grew up in a poor family in the great depression, and when he first kicked off his career people said he wouldn't make it very far but he proved them wrong! He beacame the king, still is, and always will be! Like my family we are poor and i always wanted to play guitar and my family saved up enough.money to buy me a guitar, i entered a state talent show and won 1 place, a thousand dollars!

Feel the same love Elvis is talking about, become a spiritual being. But you still look a video of Elvis Performances today and there is just no one like him, well in my opinion. And there will be no one like John Lennon, or Fats Domino or any other artists of those times, they all will inspire people in different ways and thats ok because we need diversity in this world.

    (2), I was born in Chile, during the sixties, a place much farther during those years. The Beatles were the first rock-pop band to be listened with the same intensity, the same interest and devotion and AT THE SAME TIME than in England, USA or wherever in the world. There were before another important musicians and singers like Elvis Presley, during the fifties. But The Beatles in only eight years that they lasted, they changed EVERYTHING. You are hearing now the echoes of than revolution.

Everybody has a God given/natural talent at something, and just because you can't write songs or music, doesn't mean a damn thing towards the talent that you possess!!!!! Elvis could play almost every instrument (at least decently!!), I can't barely play one, and he was a natural music conductor/expert, directing the band on wrong notes, how to play certain parts of songs, he knew as much about music as anyone!!!!! He wasn't Bruce Lee, but he even did a very decent job with his karate, I mean, a heck of a lot better than your big mouth no nothing/do nothing Joe's out there spouting off!!!!!

      Lennon and Presley were 2 totally different kinds of people with 2 entirely different upbringings. Elvis was raised by both parents in the American south with very deep Christian values while John who was abandoned by his father was raised by his aunt in a cold English seaport city. Lennon who had severe personal insecurity problems "Imagined" no heaven and no God while Elvis who also was shy would often turn to God for guidance. The one big thing they had in common other than Rock n Roll was they were both severely heartbroken at the deaths of their mothers at a young age.

    Don't know if I would agree with " before elvis thee was nothing" comment by Lennon. I think the problem here with Lennon and all those who think along this line, is probably the color of peoples skin that sang hit after hit after hits. Rock and Roll as you know was already huge before Elvis hit the road to stardom. But it was the white people that boost him up into world fame. Media took over and colored him up as the biggest white attraction since. HMMMM? Let me quess now. Perry Como. Gene Autry. Bing Crosby. How about Frank the Italian stallion himself, Sanatra? Well, anyways. Elvis was sexy and had his own moves style of music and all. I mean, I, too, was an Elvis fan for a time being. His early years that is. But, then again, I sure in the hell was big on Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Platters, Mr. James Brown himself. Lennon didn't know what real music was when he said this. Black music, my friends, was huge. I mean, there wouldn't have been rock n' roll without the great singers of the fifties. The Drifters, the Coasters on and on. Come on. You really want to believe Elvis was the king of rock. Let's get serious white folks. I mean. Really?

    • @atalantiesoterica4061

    • @joeschultz2
      @joeschultz2 Před 9 lety +1

      You have to take into account the times, this was the era when black people in some parts of the country couldn't eat at the same lunch counter or use the same bathrooms as the general population. If things back then were as they are now, then you might say that Elvis was merely the first big white rock'n'roll singer, there were black rock stars before him. But things back then weren't as they are now. There were black singers with mainstream rock'n'roll hits, but there weren't mainstream superstars, at least not yet. Elvis came along and became rock's first big superstar, (Bill Haley had Rock Around The Clock but he looked like a middle aged suburbanite), and it took off from there. Rock'n'roll originated in the black music scene, (it was completely different from what the white mainstream was listening to), but the social conditions were such that it took talented people like Elvis to adopt it and turn it into the dominant form in the mainstream.
