Race, or ethnicity, or religious group, or however people are sorted in a particular place is always important. and there are just as much racism in other multi-ethnic countries as there is here.

But I just wanna say, F*CK the standards and what people think we should be. We are all beautiful and, it doesn't matter if you have light skin, dark skin, blue eyes, brown eyes, we are all beautiful. And if we don't embrace our own beauty then what makes us individuals? ❤️

I’ve had many situations where people start talking to me in Spanish and I let them know that I don’t speak it... they full on yell at me in public or wherever we are about how I’m not a true Mexican. It’s ridiculous but a lot of LatinX believe that

My mom is White and my dad is Pakistani, I definitely identify with this feeling of not being enough for either side. I was never Pakistani enough and my cousins would always call me the white girl. and my mother's extended family was racist so family gatherings, rare as they were, were never fun. My parents tried their hardest to raise me with both cultures in mind but my dad has said he was worried that if I spoke Urdu and covered I would experience the same discrimination he faced and my mom wanted me to be connected to my Pakistani culture. Now at 18 I'm trying to find some kind of balance. It's so hard.

Mia Andrea Long Because not everywhere is the same. Here in California - it's no big deal because of all the different people here, namely the large immigrant communities in my area of Hmong, Armenian, and Hispanics. But not every place is like that - to me the South was strange because I didn't see as many minorities or at least those who were mixed. It almost made me uncomfortable even though I'm white because of where I'm from where I have friends who are Hispanic, but also half Jewish. And the one girl whose father is Indian but here mother is white - in another video she said she was from Louisiana - she may have experienced some things that left her unsure of herself and heritage.
It's like I've seen some biracial people from the US post that they would come across blacks who didn't want to hang out with them because they seemed to view them as too white/not black enough, but they also encountered whites that felt they weren't white enough to hang out with them. You also have to remember that interracial marriage was still banned in some states up into the 1960s and 1970s - like you could straight up get arrested. Never mind South Africa up until the past couple decades...

it's so interesting to me to see this kind of videos about mixrace because here in brazil we dont have this thing AT ALL. obviously there is racism (an awful lot tbh) but everybody is somewhat mixed race. my mom comes from a spanish family and my dad comes from a mixture of black and native indians. it would sound ridiculous for me to say like: "im european and black and indian". nobody says "im italobrazilian/africanbrazilian/something like that". we're all brazilians. i guess it's because our country was built in miscegenation and that's a big part of who we are.

I get asked if I am Hispanic, Italian, Asian...etc. But as soon (no joke) I say I am part Native American they look at me an scoff and say "I'm too white." And then they joke and ask if I'm Cherokee. Everybody expects Native Americans to look like Pocahontas, which yes quite a bit of us do but some of us rock whiter skin with dark dark hair like me & my family. Like you said, you aren't going to cut that part of you out of your life because your skin color! I'm tired of explaining what I am to people who just end up laughing or not believing me

I think love is the most important thing in this world, and adoption is pure unconditional love to me, cause it feels like, no matter the colour of the skin or how different the DNA may be, these parents love their children
There're so many animals that “adopt" other species and they dont care, it shouldnt be important but the people in this video just want to fit in and be acepted by society
