Wagner is a good actor. However, from a native Spanish speaker's point of view, Wagner was not the best actor to play Escobar: there were some scenes in which he struggled pronouncing the lines he had to say so you could see him completely disconnected from the character, I mean, there were a few moments in which you could clearly see that Wagner was more worried about trying to pronounce his sentences properly rather than portraying Escobar's emotions, in those cases, it was really hard to believe that you were seeing Pablo Escobar as his lines sounded very recited. Of course, this did not happen that much, however, but there were some very emblematic scenes in which that situation was quite evident.

I love what he says about talking about the past in order to understand and shape the future. Exactly this is what I noticed being in Medellin as well. I love this show and the Mexico series. He does an amazing job. Actually they all did. One of the best shows ever made hands down. I've probably seen the series 30 to 40 times now
Oh my god, I think I was in the middle of watching season 2 when I decided to look up the actor that played Pablo Escobar and hell I was shocked that he looked completely different. I was watching some of his interviews and I felt weird watching him not as Pablo and I had to stop. But damn Wagner Moura did a pretty good fucking job playing Escobar.
Watch "Elite Squad", a Brazilian movie that Wagner plays a cop! You're not gonna regret on watching that movie, I'm sure about that.
The exact same reaction that I had! He's fucking legend!
Good actor ? Yes. Good for Pablo Escobar role ? No.
maau5trap yes
@@felipec.5403 I agree. I saw the movie with English subtitles and I liked it.
This guy deserves a oscar. Just nailed the role. Awsome
Nah! He deserve an Escobar.
I've strated watching Narcos a month ago, 3rd season is almost done
I know some Spanish and I'm so glad the show is made in Spanish, cuz it feels so authentic. I was always switching from the original language to hear how it sounded originally.
I was like okay Wagner Moura acted so cool in Narcos so I'd like to watch some movies and shows with him in Spanish without dubbing and I was kind disappointed he was not a Spanish native speaker. I thought he was one cuz I didn't hear the accent. And when I googled him he looked so Brazilian clean shaven (cuz I have some friends from Brazil) so I was surprized why I didn't recognized his Brazilness :D
But now when know he had to learn Spanish for playing a role I'm so proud of him and so motivated to learn Portugese
Loved your acting...I actually finished watching the whole series yesterday!
He needs to do be interviewed as pablo!
That was be so stupid lol
what an actor he is man. his acting skills blows my mind
Thank you L. A. Times for this great interview.
What an interesting guy Wagner is, as well as a great actor.
The interview also gives us a look at the South Americans, and their movie industrustries in the different countries.
A really good interview.👍😎
Congrats to you!!You did AMAZING job!Thank you!!
People, you need to work on your marketing
Why nobody knows about this interview?
Criolo- Tetracampeão no jogo do sério exactly

Criolo- Tetracampeão no jogo do sério Couldn't agree more
Lol
more important is why its importanr for u to ppl to see this.
This man is just amazing...Great Acting
This guy clearly surpasses many of them hollywood actors we see nowadays is those big movies..
Great Interview and really good interviewer. Asked good questions and listened when Wagner was trying to find the right words.
Also: He did make an appearance as Escobar in Narcos: Mexico. So he wasn't done with the character after all.
Amazing actor with such a commanding presence. I had no doubt believing his authority and he seems to act with his eyes! Amazing!!
Agreed, I got the Jimmy Gandolfini aka Tony Soprano felling: Perfect fit for the role. Spotless.
Wagner was brilliant as Escobar. Whoever did the casting nailed it.
Rachel Nansubuga Yes! Casting is so bad in Narcos: Mexico
@@JTLVideo No, no, NOO! What are you smoking?.
Miguel Angel? Perfect. Amado Carrillo? Perfect.
Pablo Acosta? Perfect. Benjamin AF? Perfect.
Chapo Guzman? Perfect. Hector Palma? Perfect.
Ramon AF? Umm...bit skinny and young but still ok casting. Pacho Herrera? Perfect.
Kiki Camarena? Perfect. Neto? Good. Rafa? Good.
Only really jarring casting was President Salinas who was waay too young and looked weird with his half bald (clearly shaven) head.
Narcos Mexico had great casting bro
He always looks younger in interviews than in the show. Such a great actor!!
No one can play Pablo Escobar better than him❤️💙💚
Such a great interview. Both of them seem very calm and intelligent, questions as well as the answers are very precise...
You are definitely smoking and watching this like me i was really looking for this comment.
he should play "CHE GUEVARA" now, who agrees?
darshit limbaskar che was Pablo’s mentor in real life
Don Chello shut the fuck up
Indians gonna love him
He s a dirty comunist already!
COMUNISTA A SAFADO!
I igree only if shows the psicotic and murderer that Che was
Wagner Moura is an amazing actor. I know a lot of people were upset that he wasn't Spanish, but I knew all along he'd do an amazing job, and he did!!
Wagner, you know that Spanish and Portuguese are very similar in a lot of ways. I am American and have lived in Brasil for 15 years (now in Fortaleza, CE) and learned Brasilian Portuguese and Spanish. However, it is very different when it comes to reading the two languages. Also, I do agree that the cultural values, etc. are very different, and living there must have helped considerably in playing the role. Personally, I have seen many of your and Alice Braga's films and novellas and am a great fan. Keep up the great work. You are an exceptional Cinematic Artist...tchau.
Elite Squad by Wagner Moura is a really good movie with a great ending.
Captain Nascimento
People have no idea
@@dorijandorijan7220 unfortunately no...
@@ninab6150 it must be somewhat part of the one watching it, the energy that he emanates in that role, so he can understand what kind of tension he is producing in certin moments of acting the part... But man o man, did he or did he not made something to behold in that moments, just to admire the whole act and pinacle of his aggresion with sogisticated manner, concise... Also Neto when he bursted at tbe croud after matias got killed
But the whole movie..... Outstanding 👏
P. S. Did you know the fact, special ops guy who prepared him for this role was hired by movie production . . . And he said he did everything to wake up the brutality in Wagner, even physically, but he thought that it is not real thing yet!
So one day they closed them self in room and this guy went full on abuse as he could in way that he even punched him but stil Wagner was controled, and the the gay was (acting) treated to Wagners family in midle of it all and Wagner went balistic :)
Thats when this man told him... You'r ready ⚡🙏💪
@@dorijandorijan7220 thank you for that extra fun fact. I forgot writing my comment, so for a moment I thought you were referring to Narcos. I wanted to tell you "Wth have you seen Tropa de elite?" but then I double checked and realised you were actually talking about it. His character was so inhumane and humane at the same time it's crazy. I was scared but also felt sorry for him, and my favorite scenes must be those evoking such emotions: training/mission scenes and panic attacks/dead teen's (lookout) mother conversation .. Or both in one: when he takes out his anger at his wife.
man it was my first series to be watched and I willl never forget u PATRON, AND I do have learnt some foreign language words 😀😀
nada
Great interview, buy a great actor. We will see more of him in the future.
I was late to the party with Narcos...wow. One of the best dramas I've seen for ages. Wagner played Escobar brilliantly.
I thougt he's high or stoned during the interview. Turned out my playback speed was at 0.75 😂😅😆
😂😂😂😂😂😂. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 🔆🔆🔆🌈🦜🌈🦜🌈🦜🎊🎉🌴🌴
This dude is a super actor literally perfect acting
Amazin actor!!! im so glad I came across this interview, i loved the series and now I admire him so much more!
I love what he says about talking about the past in order to understand and shape the future. Exactly this is what I noticed being in Medellin as well. I think a lot of people want to know more in order to understand how it could've taken place, and what we should do in order to avoid these terrible situations. But, on the other hand, this takes time, just like it did in my country (NL) with WOII.
Great actor! Love your work and this interview, patron
Idk who this actor is but his performance as Pablo was one of the most gripping and captivating performances I've ever seen from an actor and literally made the show. From his voice, facial expressions, mannerisms, he nailed everything
Fico feliz por você 🇧🇷 parabéns pelo trabalho em "Narcos"
You are an amazing actor...we must see you in more movies !!Love from India!!!
This guy was The Perfect Pablo Escobar. He captured the essence of the man unlike any other. I binge watched each season and when It was over I still wanted more.
Wow, What an actor.
Thanks for the best Narcos series.
A Complete Gentleman...Future Looks Bright...Thank You.I Enjoyed This Interview
You played his character really well my friend.
Great interview ! It is because of this man's portrayal of Pablo Escobar that I could simply not find it in my heart to hate the man who had caused SO much chaos and death... I thought he should win every award possible ! And he DID come back ni a "flashback" Narcos Mexico Season 4 I believe ! Felix went to Napoles and met face to face with Pablo...
Elite Squad One and Two. Thats all you have to google to get to see more of Wagner Moura slaying in acting and in crime drama!
Pedro Henrique Malta true story, seen both parts few years ago. He lived that character and I was surprised why hasn't his brilliance been tapped...will watch Narcos this week
Pedro Henrique Malta Tropa de Elite!!! Both films - the best!!!
Olha o brasileiro invadindo essa porra uehauehaueh
The way he did all of that preparing for the part is just amazing to me. Such dedication. No wonder the roll was so great.
He really deserves an award. He's a good actor, even his portrayal in the latest Netflix Sergio. I love his acting.
His acting work is nothing like I have ever seen before, its incredible. I felt like I met Escobar through the Narcos series.
So sad they made the story of pablo about 2 seasons only. That life gives stuff for 3-4 seasons pablo
its 3 seasons
@@not.arhaan9274 3rd season is about Cali cartel
I agree Ted Bundy. Also felt your show could have been much more in depth, 2-3 season minimum.
If you want a detailed look into his life, then watch Pablo Escobar - El Patron Del Mal.. Thats the mother of Narcos when it comes to details..
Yep they rushed it..I heard its because they didnt know they were going to get another season so they rushed a lot of stuff in S1
Probably the greatest actor ever.. I might be exaggerating.. but he is simply amazing
Now I understand why I loved his Spanish so much!
He acted so well, I was actually feeling pity and sad for him towards the end!
