Replaced all electrolytic radial capacitors of my FT290R exept that inside VCO because i it's drowned in epoxy resin. Now the radio receive and transmit regularly but with the repeater selector in simplex position and receiving mode in FM position there is sometimes a rx - tx loop; the radio goes to reception and transmission several times, that is, the green and red LEDs continue alternatively to light up while receiving. On the other hand, when the repeater selector is in the repeater positions - 600 or + 600 Khz the radio receives regularly. Could this problem depend on the calibration of one trimmer on the return of BF? How can i solve the problem without service manual? Thanks.
Should have maybe tried HF CW before resorting to VHF/UHF? I got sickened of HF phone years ago and have never looked back since opting for CW only. Good luck and have fun!
can u help me? I bought 290r mk2 off ebay and its apparently the UK version and its just 144-146 and fm simplex is 146.520 and i can't get there. do u have a mod to turn it into the USA version? i have looked everywhere. thx ke5oah
