නමුත් මෙත්තානන්ද මහතාට අනුව රාවණා රජු සහ මෙහි කිසිම සාක්ශියක් හෝ සම්බන්ධයක් නැත. මෙත්තානන්ද යනු මෙම නිල්දිය පොකුණ සොයාගත් පුද්ගලයින් දෙදෙනාගෙන් එක් අයකුයි.
◼️කරඳගොල්ල උඩුකිරින්ද කන්දේ 2 km පමණ ගියවිට අඩි 1500 ක් පමන පොළව යට පිහිටා ඇති මෙ⁣ම නිල් දිය පොකුණට යන උමං මාර්ගය හමුවේ.. ඉතා දුෂ්කර මෙන්ම අතිශය අනතුරුදායක ගමනකින් පසුව මේ නිල් දිය පොකුණ ඇති ස්ථානයට ලඟාවිය හැක. ඔබට විනීතව ගමන් කිරීමට හැකිනම් පමණක් මෙම ස්ථානය නැරඹීමට යන්න වග බලාගන්න...
Nil Diya Pokuna is an underwater pond that is situated in a cave or a tunnel complex in Ella which is believed to have been built by king Rawana. The pond lies 80 meters deep inside a mountain cave in Karandagolla. The cave can be accessed via two independent entrances, of which the better-known one is situated in a forest reserve in the area. A villager then discovered a second entrance on private property. The cave has a rabbit hole entrance through which the pond can be reached. It is a place to be explored by the adventurous and caution should be taken during this journey. The water of the pond is crystal clear and gives a blue tinge of color when it reflects with light.
