* Oh how sublime! I have to admit that this Chaconne enchants me so much as the best delight that one day (playing the tragedian Diva) I told & swore around me that in my funerals I wanted to be burried with this Music as sole company to my soul hoping people on the cemetary would enjoy this melody as much as I did, while alive. Fortunately, (joke) nobody demanded me to honour my word ! More seriously, THANK YOU infinitely for the quality of this version yours. §
@@affinitaensemblefuraltemus1695 I absolutely love Baroque-time instruments! As well as Baroque music, though. Is it viola da gamba on the right, or maybe something I don't know? It would be great to add some description of the instruments to the video title - you can see that people ask questions about them. Thank you for the great video!
This is a different family of instruments - viola family. Viola d'amore, viola da braccio, viola da gamba, and so on. The frets are gut frets, they can be moved around to achieve tuning to alternative tonal systems, first of all, natural ones, which are more harmonic, but, due to the difficulty is the lack of transitional symmetry and equivalence of different keys, mostly replaced by the modern common-practice equal temperament. The instruments are typical for the Baroque period.
On most languages flute can mean both the straight flute (weirdly named the recorder in English) and also the the traverso. The modern silvery flute didn't exist when this piece was composed, so the recorder may be more correct to use with this piece.
Beautiful to listen to during my yoga practice session. I love Purcell and Lawes.
I love Purcell too. ❤
Old music is best
What a beautiful performance! And Purcell... he is really one of the GOATs.
The wonderfulness of their sorrowful performance is unrivaled, indescribable and outclassing
Excelente y sentida interpretación, haciéndole honor al genio de Purcell, un grande que sigue conmoviéndonos.¡ Felicitaciones!

👏👏👏
Beautiful performance. But, oh that hand held camera, was that a good idea?
Eine Frage zu den sehr schönen Flöten: Welcher Hersteller nach welchem Original?
Stephan Blezinger und Friedrich van Huene, nach Denner. Liebe Grüße, Elisabeth

Are these not recorders?
I'm a fan of the Cello, but that cello has 5 strings AND FRETS? Never have I seen one like that.
