Sorry to hear the complaint… I’m a GM guy going to Ford. All the upper trim lines have a lot of software, some are set via the normal menu… many more tweaks & settings are available with ForScan, it provides more customization than available in other Brands. Most the issues I heard in your rant could be modified in ForScan.. or simply turn several off. Ford’s 6.7 is much more powerful than any other offering, better fuel mileage (normally), and in my opinion the Interior and seat excel.. at least for my 6’8” frame. Have a 2024 F450 Limited ordered, and anxious to play with all the new technology and software. Good luck with your next one.

I am in the process of buying a 2023 3 ton pick up. I just sold my 2021 Ram 3500 limited H/O cummins dually back to the dealership, truck was amazing no complaints at all and no issues in the two years I owned it since new. Just don't need a dually anymore and especially not for my daily driver, it was amazing for towing but any off road farm type use just to stiff its made for being loaded down with weight.... The F350 lariat was the direction I was leaning but this video has me concerned I despise all the censors and adaptive braking and computer nonsense you have to deal with now in these trucks. A pick up truck is a blue collar working mans life line literally. I need power windows, power locks, A/C and Heat, and I need the thing to start each time I turn the key and not much else. If I wanted a Ferrari or a Mercedes I would go buy one, it really confuses me why they take a blue collar vehicle like a pick up truck and try to turn it into a Mercedes with all this nonsense you don't need and most likely never use. Then there are some options I find useful and would like to have but most times you cant just choose that option without choosing this "package" that consists of a bunch of other opitons you dont even want. Long winded comment but you mentioned a lot of my concerns about these trucks as well especially the adaptive braking nonsense I hate it.
Yep - I had a brand new King Ranch 250 which was my dream truck. the white with the bronze two-tone. Wanted that exact truck for years. Once I started driving it I absolutely hated it. All the bells and whistles. I'll never forget the first time the pre-collision assist thing went off I nearly had a heart attack... The vehicle in front of me was slowing down to turn right and the truck didn't think I was stopping for it ( I wasn't because I'm the human being and I could tell my following distance and my speed would not allow me to hit the car in front of me..). The most unnerving alert went off - sounded like those dang Amber Alert deals on your phone... That and a few other reasons led me to sell the truck. Personally, I hate those stupid folding running boards - they do make the truck look good but I don't give a dang what the truck looks like really.. I don't even like the push start on them, give me the option of a real key. Anyways, I have the 22 F250 in Lariat Low package now. Just the right amount of bells and whistles in my opinion.
You could still buy base model trucks..FYI since the 1950's trucks became luxury vehicles..more chrome,trim and in the 70's they had options like luxury cars,pw,ps,air,tilt,cruise 2 tone paint,chrome trim just like luxury cars..So trucks never changed,options today are more than before..Again you can buy base model trucks. Buy a RAM Tradesman or base mode Ford if want a Ford for $40k-$60k you can buy a 4 door 4x4 gas or diesel truck with just basic options but government makes you have backup camera.
100% agree with you on the my view thing. I came from a 19 F150 to a 23 F250 XLTpremium. That is by far the most annoying thing on the truck. The other issue with the truck slamming the brakes on you I’m pretty sure you can turn that off. I was able to on my 21 Explorer anyway. Course it’s all water under the bridge now I guess, hope that Denali worked out for you!
I’m a Ford guy myself also. I’ve ordered a new Powerstroke every 2 years for a long time. My 2022 had 264 miles on it when 3rd gear shelled out in it I fix it and sent it down the road. Also when I took ownership of this truck there was a lot of stuff underneath already totally rusted out. I think if Ford is going to put a price tag on these trucks for $90k or $110k they need to be spotless like they use to be.
Lol. No fifth wheel hitch for trailer. Probably #1 reason to trade it in. All the others he mentioned can be turned off. I own a 23 tremor. I turned those features off.
I have a 2023 Platinum F350 Tremor with the HO Diesel and love the truck. I shut off many of the things you complain about, I don't like them either, especially the emergency braking stuff. I am buying a 2024 GMC 2500 AT4X AEV too, so I should have a good idea about how they compare. I think each truck has their positive and negatives. Aluminium versus Steel frame, independent front suspension or not, metal protection plates (more or less), vented rear diff or not, higher power diesel or not, different tailgate entry systems, Auto 4WD on GMC, but not the Ford, ..... I think the two trucks each have positives and negatives, both pretty awesome though. I have had GMC diesels for 30 years, first time trying a Ford. Like it so far.

I've been looking at new diesel pickups for awhile now. Finally had a chance yesterday to track down a new Chevrolet 2500HD ZR2 with the Duramax. Been a while since I've had some time to spend in a full size pickup. Dealer tossed me the keys and said enjoy. I did. Loved it. Price, not so much. Going to wait and see where interest rates go. Hopefully down. On the way back home saw dealers with inventory beginning to stack up. That truck also beat out the rest of the others I've looked at. Just was easier to get settled into and operate. Hate sunroofs so that rules out GMC 2500HD AT4X. I can't stand any trim level that makes a sunroof standard equipment.
I just picked up my 2024 lariat and everything you've said I 100% agree except about the gmc I bought a 2022 and I drove it 10 miles away from the dealer and I turned around and asked them if I could give it back and get my 2020 F250 back that gmc was the absolute most uncomfortable truck I have ever owned that was an 85k mistake

A lot of the bells and whistles on trucks are to attract women customers. I bought a 2004 chevy Silverado 4X4 Z71, just went over 100k miles Great truck, have had the instrument cluster replaced twice one was free because they had put out a bulletin for problems with the clusters, Cost me I think $400.00 for the second one. That's it other than tires, belts, filters and light bulbs. I keep my trucks for a really long time. my truck before this one was a 1991 chevy 4X4 traded it in on the one I have now. Never any problems with that one other than U joints and an alternator.
I agree I had a 13 and miss it. All the gizmos on my 23 are annoying. I’m at 1400 miles and seriously considering selling it. The brake lock up got me in heavy stop and go traffic and same thing entering my garage. This may not be the case but it hasn’t happened for the last 700 miles or so with the same traffic every night and same garage like it’s learning a routine and if that’s true it’s scary. The screen bs is another story, I’m going to wear out the OK button in no time.

Someone cut me off on the highway last week and my truck locked the brakes. Nearly had a heart attack and got rear ended. Ford must be stopped, can the braking be tuned out with foreskin?
I had a whole debacle with an f250 and ended up with a 23 ram. Im not a ram guy but all the duramax problems and ford oil pressure stuff, i just went ram and have been happy for 3500 miles so far. 20.5mpg and 11mpg with the travel trailer
I recently traded my f450 lariat for a 2024 3500hd dually had it about a week now and it has grown on me I can give the entire side by side comparison between the 2 in depth from comfort to towing which i do daily either my gooseneck or dump trailer so far I can only find 1 thing I miss about ford it’s the back up TAILGATE camera way better other than that Chevy high country wins
Steering on a dime Chevy all day as a hauler being able to integrate my Google calendar into the information center in the Chevy is great I’ve been ford guy for 20 years I still own my 2002 7.3 but I’m kinda sold on the duramax , no turbo lag which is nice more comfortable to drive and ride but I do miss the fact I owned a 450 which is still diamond and jewel
I had a 2024 Ultimate I bought in May 2023. It was bought back in August 2023. Check under the truck for an oil leak around the oil cooler, I had that along with not being able to get the parts, a steering wheel issue, the radio wouldn't turn off, and a coolant leak they couldn't get parts for which started the buyback procedure. It was a good-driving truck, but my 2023 F350 got pushed to a 2024 so I went back and bought another Ram 3500. Hopefully, your GMC does better than mine did.
Yea all the things he complains about can be shut off or changed in vehicle settings. I had a 2023 GMC 2500 Duramax for 9 months with an ever-growing list of issues. Had my 2023 F-350 6.7 S.O. PSD for 4 months now without any issues. Good luck with that GMC @dirt naked.
I havent drove the 23 models but I know new models are gonna have issues. I did the opposite of you though, bought a 21 AT4 and it had so many problems I got rid of it at 5K miles and bought my first Ford (22 F250w/6.7). I love it so far at 50K, I loved the dmax and I have had 5 of them but the new transmission "Allison" was horrendous. Good luck guess now adays its just luck of the draw.

Got a truck very similar to the F350 in video. Yes to many safety items on trucks now but can turn off a lot of stuff. I would take that 350 or a 250 ANYDAY over a GMC or Chevy though. Ford is a much better truck.

@@dirtnakedfarmsthey're just saying you can make it less sensitive. Like be closer to the thing in front of you before it slams the brakes. Not sure that'll help farmers and other people driving through grass/crops though. But, while driving around town, you should be able to desensitize it to the point where it won't bother you. My wife's blazer is like this and I set all the settings to give me the best driving experience. My hate is the auto off feature. They say it won't wear out the starter but I call bullshit. It the starter is spinning, it's wearing out as well as the flywheel.
@D31781 I never heard of the issue on the F150s, so I'm not sure. ALOT of people thought I couldn't run the screens in the truck, but it is a well-known issue. I'm just not sure if it is on the F150s.
It doesn't bother as bad on the GMC. That being said I think its because GM has had it out for so long and I just wasn't used to seeing on a Ford? Not a big fan of the looks but its really nice when your short and fat getting something out of your toolbox. Cheers!

I originally thought the same thing but after having the 23 I wish mine didn't have the tailgate step. I'm sure you know by now that the clip on top of that step will get all jacked up after about 6 months

I drove a friends 2021 F350 and can confirm the fuel economy is spectacular for such a big truck. Also has much get up and go when you want.

Dealer took a lot off of the truck (hitch included) to try and get it here sooner. I pull the 5th wheel with a F450.

My biggest bitch is I can’t stand the look of the front end which almost had me buying a denali ultimate.
Love my 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch 5.0 Coyote. Its smooth and packs a punch. No complaints.
I have a couple F150's with the 5.0 They have been excellent trucks!

That's weird on the cluster. Mine says where ever I left it. I run mine on lane assist because its the least distracting one.

From experience I can say that there will be more things that will annoy you about the ultimate. For example, the center console design
I originally thought the trailer brake location was really a dumb move... I have gotten used to it. Console is definitely smaller than the ford.

Highly recommend Ram. We’ve loved ours. Had a 2004 and now a 2012 for 11 years approaching 200k. Been very reliable, simple and easy to use.

I'm really not sure. The 10 speed was introduced in the 20-21 year models. Anything is possible with the right mechanic 😎
Completely different harness and yes power train control module. Can it be done? Yes. Would someone want to go through the trouble? I would say no.

@@dirtnakedfarmsthey're just saying you can make it less sensitive. Like be closer to the thing in front of you before it slams the brakes. Not sure that'll help farmers and other people driving through grass/crops though. But, while driving around town, you should be able to desensitize it to the point where it won't bother you. My wife's blazer is like this and I set all the settings to give me the best driving experience. My hate is the auto off feature. They say it won't wear out the starter but I call bullshit. It the starter is spinning, it's wearing out as well as the flywheel.

So the early '23s had an issue where it wouldn't go back to what it was last set on. Ford has now released an update to fix the issue.

@D31781 I never heard of the issue on the F150s, so I'm not sure. ALOT of people thought I couldn't run the screens in the truck, but it is a well-known issue. I'm just not sure if it is on the F150s.

I’ve own 3 Super Duty’s 2006, 2012 and 2019… I passed on purchasing one these 2023’s because of the ridiculous and useless bed and bumper steps. Hey #Ford the truck has enough steps. 🤦🏼♂️
I originally thought the same thing but after having the 23 I wish mine didn't have the tailgate step. I'm sure you know by now that the clip on top of that step will get all jacked up after about 6 months
