Is Sai Sho Mon - No Shravaka-Disciple
Hyaku Shi Butsu - Or Self-taught buddha
Sho Fu No Chi - Can understand it.
Sho I Sha Ga - Why is that? (because!)
Butsu Zo Shin Gon -the [present] Buddhas attended on many
Hyaku Sen Man Noku - hundreds of thousands of billions
Mu Shu Sho Butsu - Of [past] Buddhas,
Jin Gyo Sho Butsu - And practiced the many teachings
Mu Ryo Do Ho - Of those Buddhas bravely and energetically
Yu Myo Sho Jin - To their far-flung fame till they attained
Myo Sho Fu Mon - The profound Law
Jo Ju Jin Jin - Which you've never heard before,
Mi Zo U Ho - And also because they are exposing
Zui Gi Sho Setsu - The Law according to the capacities
I Shu Nan Ge - Of all living beings a way that the intention is hard to understand

Go Ju Jo Butsu I Rai - Since I became Buddha, I also
Shu Ju In Nen - Have been stating various teachings
Shu Ju Hi Yu - With different stories of previous lives,
Ko En Gon Kuyo - Various parables, and various similes.
Mu Shu Ho Ben - I have been leading all living beings
In Do Shu Jo - With countless expedients
Ryo Ri Sho Jaku - In order to save them from materialism,
Sho I Sha Ga - Because I have the power
Nyo Rai Ho Ben - To employ skills,

Kai I Gu Soku - The Paramita (reached goal of wisdom) of insight

I just read about your passing. I have tears in my eyes... each time I was in Zurich I'd secretly look for you, hoping I could tell you how much meditation had helped me, how much your unique voice encouraged me to find my own when singing, and your dynamic performances reminded me that it's ok to be sexy and comfortable in my body.
I'm so sad for the people you've left behind, but so happy for what you had while living. You were loved by not just millions of strangers, but by those around you. My thoughts are with them, especially your loving husband and children. Thank you for this recording and for exposing so many to mindfulness and meditation. I always think of you, when a person honks their horn and throws a fit and remind myself that it doesn't matter. I don't have to be annoyed, because I can choose peace. I'm so glad you could experience real love in your life and hope that your passing was met gently and amicably.

Today, I chant for peace in the world. I chant for my life with a new rare cancer intestinal tumor taken out August 2023, finally after a year of pain no diagnosis and becoming unhoused/homeless in November 2022 as the landlord also wanted a better life when their daughter had cancer for 3 years prior. Can not fight back relatives. Only give forgiveness. I lived in my car and was in pain without diagnosis since it all began. I say this chant, Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, to honor Tina Turner, peace and no more suffering in this world. Namaste.

My mom was a Buddhist, I grew up chanting this with her. She was so very proud to tell everyone that Tina Turner was also a Buddhist. We both loved her music also. Came across this, it brings back so many memories for me, i really really miss my mom so much. Lost her to cancer 10 years ago. I thought this would be soothing for me but my heart hurts so badly listening to this. Maybe one day I can be strong enough to.
Awe, you never have to be strong enough, grief and loss is hard perhaps one day you will be in a better space to listen you are not weak for being wonderfully human!💌

8 years ago I was heavily addicted to heroin and ended up in rehab....my roommate in rehab had a month clean and was studying Buddhism and asked me if I wanted to chant with him every morning when we woke up for breakfast... I agreed and nam myho renege kyo is what we would chant over and over as he rubbed his beeds together...long story short we both have 8 years sober and still talk on regular basis.

When I was a little girl my mother worked at a cemetery selling plots (seemingly morbid, I know) and she worked with a lovely older white gentleman. One of the kindest and most pure of souls I’ve encountered in this life. He kneeled down to me and we had a very intentional conversation where he gave me a business card and printed on this business card in a beautiful font was Nam myoho renge kyo. Phil, or “The Guy”, patiently taught me this chant and we repeated it a number of times. I was left with the card. That was that. Phil has since passed. My mother passed some time after. Six years ago now. Out of nowhere the chant popped into my mind during a time of grief and has always stayed with me. This version of the chant has lulled me to sleep many a night. Again tonight, reading these comments, they are in my memories as well as my heart

Today my chant is for those suffering from domestic violence. My friend’s granddaughter (26 y/o) was murdered by her own boyfriend and father of her 4 children (youngest is 6 mo old). Now her organs have been donated to save other lives. I chant so I, along with those in pain from her loss, find solace in her memories. I chant for the safety of the children who loss their mother. I have chanted this beautiful chant for over 20 years, morning and evening, in this amazing practice of Niceren Diashonin Buddhism. It is a very mystical, self empowering, centering, joyful practice. I don't think I could have overcome all the pain and obstacles that life brings without having something so amazing as a this practice to keep me so strong and resilient : ) so much love and appreciation : )
One day you realise that liberation is to let go everything. Leaving the world, leaving the illusion of this life and then you truly live what you really are .

My cat was acting playfully aggressive at first and suckling on my clothes bad at first. When he heard this chant, he calmed all the way down and totally relaxed. He even stopped suckling on me and just wanted me to rub his chin. I am so shocked!

This chant works. I had a friend as a teenager who was a Buddhist. He used to do it. I laughed at him. Then one day I tried it. I asked for something stupid and very unlikely to happen. It happened before my very eyes. I still can’t believe it but I have received things you wouldn’t believe over the years.

How does it work? Do you have to say it loud for 2 hours thinking about something or just listening to this video for couple of minutes or dies it also work to say it in my mind sever times while wishing something? Before or after the wish?

In 1985 I was 16 years old i was standing on the steps and a complete stranger came up to me and gave me a card that said NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO and said if you want anything chant this then he said repeat after me. He then made sure i could say it and nodded his head a walked away. I have never forgot that chant nor that man.

I don’t know how I came to this video, as it does not relate to any videos I’ve watched before. But, it might be what I needed. With my life falling apart, and no end to my suffering, I was planning on how to end it all. I didn’t know that Tina Turner was Buddhist, being Catholic, I’m still not sure how I came across this video. Only thing I do know is that I’m crying, but not tears of pain anymore, more of an unknown odd comfort.

I’m still staying strong, yesterday was a difficult day in my sobriety. When hearing that Tina Turner passed away, it sadden me that such a great woman whose chanting and wisdom saved me was no longer with us.

I am 32 days cigarette, marijuana and alcohol free. Tina is a huge inspiration for me. Seeing so much pain and crime in Chicago has brought me back to home to michigan. But this coming spring I am driving cross country to New Mexico where I feel a strong pull to be and practice my spirituality in zen Buddhism and yoga. I love you all.

The phrase she is chanting is Nam Myoho Renge Kyo (and reciting the prayers called Gongyo) it is a beautiful and Powerful mantra. That's enables you to be better person. And with that you go onto teach and share with others. There is plenty of youtube videos to help you chanting and learn gongyo. I hope you try it. ❤😊
