I do love my yellows. You have the first vote on this color so far. 😀

Da Vinci “Sea Glass” is like a more transparent version of that custom blue; no white pigment and it’s SO bright.

What an interesting combination of hues! I’ll look forward to seeing what you paint with it!

My fav color of this palette is probably the indigo and the quin red. This quin red looks like the quin red light from Schmincke Horadam… love this color! 😊

That’s a really interesting selection of colours for a palette; I’ve never tried Da Vinci paints. Love that little page of flowers… looks like so much fun to paint and awesome way to try a new palette!

Loved your flower painting idea! The lines on top do bring it alive.

Thank you, but I can't take credit for it. This came from a video that Creative Paula put out a few months ago. I love it. ❤️

Cute set! That light blue mix is lovely, and the swatch flowers turned out really cute. I hope you have a fabulous time in Canada! That sketchbook looks like a great idea to take with you. Funnily enough, Nick and I are planning a big road trip at the end of July and all of August, and I'm in that "Panic, I need to have enough videos scheduled!" phase, lol. 😂

This is a very nice set. I see myself buying a traditional palette of watercolors from Da Vinci. I’d be looking for split primaries, magenta, dioxazine purple, greens, and earth colors. Plus I would love Joyce’s mother green and mother violet. Thanks for sharing. Bon voyage!

I think their dot package with all their colors is completely worth 30 dollars you get 5 cardboard pallets that close and there is sooo much paint in them. Like at least a 1/4 pan each. You order it from their website and mine came in 3 to 4 days i think. You can definitely paint multiple paintings with how much you get. I loved their opus pink its much less textured than any other opera pink ive used. Their Manganese blue is the best, and they have a very unique colbalt Turquoise deep with PB 36, it's like a darker sleeping beauty Turquoise, it looks unlike any other color I've seen in any brand. So gorgeous! Its a G2= Granulates well, opaque, Series 5, with Excellent lightfast rating. Try it! You'll love it

What an amazing adventure you are going on! I am envious. I give you permission to break your no buy if you find arty souvenirs. See if you can snag some Stoneground Watercolour paints!

I agree with you about buying watercolors or art supplies as souvenirs. A no buy doesn’t count on vacation!

Palette seems heavy on the yellows and oranges, but some very pretty colors :)

The Charlie O'Blue is meant to be a cobalt-free version of Cobalt Turquoise, aka a hue. I like that he put Quin Red PR209 in the palette, it mixes both great oranges and purples. And my fave is to mix it with nickel azo yellow and quinacradone rose colors. Makes an amazing range of peachy pinks! It mildly annoys me that DaVinci sells some of their colors under two or three different names, but hey, nobody's perfect 😇 Interesting that there's no phthalo green in the palette, and no purple.

My fave colour was the dark blue/indigo one and such a great idea to fill a page when you don't know what to paint but my paper is so precious to me so I tend not to do things like this but I really enjoyed watching it, safe travels!! I look forward to the pictures and the world of watercolour challenge! :D

I got this set sometime last year... I think. I have not had that much free time to play with it much, sadly. At the same time I also bought two other colors: Soulshine and Seaglass. Soulshine is sort of in between Hansa Yellow Medium and the Gold Ochre, and Seaglass is more transparent and a bit more turquoise than Charlie O'Blue, so they are good companion colors, but not really replacement ones. The Opus Pink, by the way, is _bright_ - practically florescent. Like the Terra Cotta, it's probably going to be more of a mixing color than used straight. If I were to add or replace anything, it would probably be that one with their Alizarin Crimson, but I'll probably wait until I've actually worked with it a bit more. Oh, and maybe add a Burnt Umber. Yes, some nice browns can be mixed, but there are times when I'd have better use starting from a "base" brown.

Soulshine is one of my favorites! 😍🤩 I also have Seaglass in my other palette - both wonderful colors! Good to know about the Opus Pink, thank you!
