That was really interesting. I'm a German but even though I've visited the USA several times I haven't been able to get in contact with Amish people, their stores or products.
BTW, the little house at 4:40 isn't just a thermometer. Besides the actual temperature it usually also measures the value of the current atmospheric air pressure. If it's abovea certain value, calm and dry weather can be expected, so in summer it means bright and warm weather and in winter it means clear and frosty weather. Opposite to that (lower pressure values) its more likely to become a wet (rainy) day... So it is somehow showing a weather forecast. The little house represents the pressure by the movement of the figurines. So at the turning point (mixed weather) both figurines will be equally in line with the house. If the pressure is high (warm / dry day forecast) the woman will be in front outside the house, while the man is inside. For bad weather the woman will be inside and the man - with his umbrella will be outside... so be prepared for not so nice weather with possible rainfall... :)
