What do a magician, and a monk, and a “church” all have in common? They are all part of Tokyo’s random nightlife! Shizuka is joined by Tokidoki Traveler as they explore some of Tokyo’s most unique bars.

I love the drinking variety... Bars in Canada are either usually loud clubs, pubs or dives. The drinking experience vs just drinking is cool.

I've been to Cuore and had such a good time. Honestly surprised because I wasn't into a gimmick bar at first, but drinking really helps lol. Kokoro was great too, good to see him here. can't recommend enough

The "Bald Bar" is my fave. I WANT to go to a Buddhist bar. I didn't think any Buddhist monks could drink, either. Emma's hypnotiq is right up my alley. Nice and fruity. Delish.

I’m finding one of the things I’m looking forward to a lot for when i come to japan is visiting various different izakaya’s, i can’t imaginea better way to meet new Japanese folks and get great speaking practice plus there’s so many types

01:06 - I know this area. A very, very longtime ago I lived a couple of blocks from Tokyo Opera City and spent a lot of time pie-eyed and roaming through these streets. More than a few times I ended up hanging out a hostess club or singing karaoke... poorly. haha!

I wish I could send you a picture of I think is St. Johns brewery in Pittsburgh, Penn. A lovely brew apparatus on the dais, and an amazing tequila wood cask brewed ale. Worth the visit. Fresno,CA.

Is Daijyou Bukyou really the correct spelling? There is no sect in Shin Buddhism called that I can find.
Church bar is trendy and cool but Buddhist Bar is nanka kurai. Magic bar seems like a throw back to the 1980 s , can't believe they still use vinyl menus I thought everything would be digital in Shinjuku by now.
