Yes the WiFi is working, perfectly well - just select the Doha airport in the networks list in your settings, then a pop up will confirm youre entering a public WiFi hotspot. It worked very well for me.

Istanbul Airport is much better than Doha Airport. Doha Airport looks dark with low ceiling height.
