Jimmi is using the Dday SS book and using the best of the best the 9th SS panzer division supported by some ss panthers. I am using a tournament list that finished 2nd in the Scottish nationals

Great BR lads. Thought Jimmy approached the game pretty well. I would try squeeze in H-Ts or Stummels. The stummels supporting the attack would help put pressure on hellcats and H-Ts. However don't know aside from the AA where the points would come from. I still think the PaK 40s are worth it to give you a defend option. If you drop them then you have to think attacking more than not.

The Waffen SS D Day book can have 4 PzSpah platoons as support choices.

if the points are available could swap out the 8cm mortars for the 12cm ones for just one more point, that would give them another 16 inches of range do lose the smoke bombardment tho.

Always going to be a challenge to attack with foot sloggers. Maybe try defending with them and see how they play.

Been the method so far. Careful, fearless veteran troops with rof 3 and panzerfaust and panzershrek are hard to dislodge

Love your battle reports so I have a question as follows; can you take a command card for a support unit that is different from your core force, for instance if your force is from dday book doesn't all your cards need to be from that book. Although you could build a support force from Buldge and then take a support force from dday. and I'm assuming that is what was done.

The command cards need to be from the book you are using. Do dday force would need dday cards

I’d personally consider buying 6 stummels over 3 pak40. Not sure which card is used to upgrade the packs (earlier I assumed they would have been upgraded with best firepower as well, but you now make me doubt) Either way the stummels only cost 11 points rather than the 12 spent on the paks, so the aa can remain on the board if you make it a 99 point list.
Also not sure if the AA unit should be upgraded with best support or best firepower, but that wont matter in points unless you increase the unit to 4

Thank you for the advice. So far with the evolution of the list the pak 40s have kept their place but training tiger 2's have taken the place of the panthers and AA

@@valleygamingfowmesbgswl ah yes training tiger 2 are a very solid reserves choice.
To optimize the list further you could look into using the ss recce formation to shave some points of the mortars. Then you could maybe look at folding the scout cars into the formation or adding some halftracks to one of the infantry units
