The fact that you’d rather not turn a hero into a daemon prince is so upsetting, GW created a gorgeous model to only put the warscroll 6 feet under, iv tried multiple times to get a daemon prince to work and every time it’s disappointing 😢
Agreed I think the only way I’d take a daemon prince is if I already got like -2 rend on the EoTG table. I don’t find chaos lords or exalted chanpions to really be worth their points so I’m not even getting to turn a crap hero into a daemon prince.
@@ungabungacaveman9021 exactly that, a Nurgle Daemon with an Axe is really the only way to go, I agree about the lord and exalted hero too, if it wasn’t for Galatian Champions rules I’d never run foot characters outside of the Chaos Sorcerer
And we even have the new prince painted up and ready to go, but he has only seen the table once and he was lack luster for sure.
Yeah its a shame. I will try a nurgle DP with arcane tome in Cabalists. For flaming weapon and the Monster Command Traite. One point: He can use lauchon the soulseeker. Maybe this will let him shin

Great report, really liking the channel! My only critique is that the dice rolls are a little hard to see, especially the ones the slaves player was using. Could probably be fixed by tweaking some camera setting or something. Looking forward to more gitz >:)
This week we film Jaw of Mork so you have more content coming your way for sure. Looking at the video again I agree with you that those S2D dice were a bit washed out. Heads up for Michael: Rockguts throw a boulder each as it is a missile weapon profile.
Personally I think, some points adjustments would do opponents of gitz players a favoure as the greenskins are just a bit to strong.
I am certain some points adjustments are on the way, even just removing moonclan from the boingrots would be helpful, does that unit really need a 4+ rally?! idk lol. Im working on finishing up Glogg’s Megamob and i am going to throw so many boulders with the Troggs. what a fantastic improvement for them

As for the game itself, I would have kept the manticore on the left side supporting the chosen, eventually sending it to try to destroy the moon and the ogroids on the right supporting the marauders, also I don’t think I would have charged with the knights to a small unit of spiders, they were left in the middle ready to receive the charge of the trolls and knights are quite bad if they don’t charge (I know that chosen received the charge but that felt like overkill)
All.good points! Michael was sneaky and pinned me with that loon boss, otherwise the knights could have eaten the trolls. I also deployed way to far back with the chosen and they got snared in the stabba screen. I learned a lot from that battle plan, either commit to seizing the enemy objective, or make sure to protect your home objective. It is difficult to do both with an elite army.
What did you end up choosing for your Karkadrak when you rolled a12 on the eye of the gods? if you decline the demon prince option I believe you get to choose any other option on the table. Such as plus 1 rend.
Somebody show me this rule on discord! I can't believe I could have added rend to my Karkadrak! Next time for sure
@@BattleshockWargaming its on the table under the deamon prince roll. It states that the unit can choose to ascend to daemonhood or choose any other option on the table.
Nice BR as always! The replacement unit you placed seems to be further away than the "wholly within 12" of a Bad Moon Loonshrine" it needs to be within though, if I'm reading the rule correctly?
I believe Michael placed the Stabbas within 12, then strung them out to screen in the subsequent move phase

Though just love the Gitz range, enjoy seeing how others paint theirs up, and I root for them on any battle report that shows up in my battle report feed.
My two most recent purchases for Gitz were one Bonegrinder Giant (not great rules but wanted one for Gitz) and a 3d printed Troggoth themed gatebreaker mercenary. After that I’ll eventually get more stabba/shootas and fanatics or start a first spiders list.

Nice video ! Am i wrong or you can only return a destroyed unit at the Gitz turn ? You tried it at the end of the S2D turn and shouldn't.

The rule reads at the end of each of your turns, so I'm pretty sure you're correct and that was a mistake.

I think some point increases are coming for gitz and I think they're justified. They're very undercosted for what they do so I think the battlescroll will be tough on them. However, their rules are REALLY cool and thematic, so I think leaving rules alone and bringing points higher will get the gitz into a more reasonable spot in the meta
The gitz are sooooo good dude. We have a massive pile of them on the way ;)
Only units with the eye of the gods key word can roll on the eye of the gods table. This is only characters, units of undivided or units that allow a roll pre game such as the chosen. Conduit can't be cast on the chosen in this case because they are Khorne but get the pre game roll. Only units with eye of the gods get a roll on the chart when they capture an objective previously held by the enemy as well
This is correct, time stamp the times when I made mistakes? I rolled for both Karkadrak and Manticore after seizing objectives, chosen pregame and general pregame.
I think this battle will go to whoever gets the first big hit in. The gitz do huge damage on impact but Slaves will hit harder I think in prolonged fighting, and they are probably tankier. I think I'm leaning slaves here, but it could go either way. Good luck to both and let's have fun!
I believe when you roll an 11 or 12 if you don't transform your guy into a daemon prince you can pick any other option from the table. Maybe could have given him increased rend? Also, at the end of turn 1 could David have piled his 4 marauders in a little so they could screen the manticore in case Michael got the turn?
I will have to check the rule for dark apothosis, I would have loved to give him more rend!
@@BattleshockWargaming Gotta say the Gitz seem maybe a little over-tuned right now. They have strong magic, strong hammers, good mobility, good impact damage, lots of wards and healing and are able to bring back dead units. It seems like they have a lot of rules left over for buffing weak units that can now be applied to very strong units, like the bounders and troggoths. Those troggoths are nasty with a pretty good save, lots of damage, a ward save and the ability to heal. The bounders are nasty too for being fairly cheap with their good mobility, nasty impact hits and a lot of damage output. Plus that ability to rally them on 4's was crazy. I'm not sure what exactly would need to be changed, but it feels like an army right now with all the perks of being a horde army and an elite army at the same time.
It was a fun batrep, and yeah the manticore's save rolls were amazing to watch.

@@BattleshockWargaming Just for you to know, oracular vision can only be applied on MORTALS. Ogroid Theriddon are not so they can't receive this buff, sadly :/ It goes the same way with the aura of the altar :/. In fact those poor ogroid can't receive most of the buffs/spells/shinaningan of the army.

Gitz are just a tank crashing into you since the new book. Played them 3 times since then, the impact charge was wiping whole units even before they attacked. Jezz
Yes, they are quite good :) We have about 800 bucks worth of gloomspite on the way!
They must of been rolling hot to wipe units before combat with BGz.
@@AvatarOfNateP roll ten dice after charge, 1 mw on 3+ if i remember correctly. Do that with a few units to the same target 🎯 and it’s devastating.

You roll 11 or 12 on eye of the gods you can either go demon Prince or pick any other result, and if you do go demon Prince you carry over any buffs or traits given to them

What I don't get: many people in batreps only roll 1 die for the shooting attack of the rockguts. But it is still an attack, that just doesn't use the usual attack sequence. Every model has one. It's even an attack profile on the warscroll, not just it's rules text. Meaning 6 troggoths throw 6 dice and still add the +1 for having more than 5 models.
Absolutely! Michael felt pressure to get the army on the channel as soon as possible and literally was learning them while we filmed. He has learned much and we have a great battle with sguig heavy gitz vs beastclaw raiders on the way soon! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@BattleshockWargaming It's worth pointing out as well, while we're all learning, that you only roll to return a unit with the Loonshrine at the end of your own turn. I think Michael may have rolled at the end of the Slaves and Stormcast turns once or twice. Beautiful army and can't wait for more content from y'all!

Almost every single gitz unit needs increased in points. It is insane these lists can fit so many models AND they can come back each turn at a 4+. They need this fixed in the next battlescroll ASAP.
Only moon clan units do that and only when they are under the moon and away from enemy units. Trolls and squigs don't get to do it but yes that is pretty tasty when u can do it

@@canadaazrael6863nope. With the new book, almost every unit can return. However it is not in every turn, just on Gitz turn
How could the grots screen like that at 43:00? Dont they have to have cohesion?
As long as each grot is within 1 inch you can screen out like that, the trick is to put the last three grots on the end of the chain touching base to base, then the unit is within cohesion. Its a sneaky way to extend a screen out helpful against an opponent without shooting.
@@BattleshockWargaming i thought that units of 5 or more have to remain within an inch of two other models. Does only one model have to do that then?
@@RykoCrucembase of the grots is less than one inch. So as long as you put them together, each one is technically less than one inch away from the next two bases

Why did the Gitz bring back their Spiders turn 1 at the end of the StD turn? The shire only brings back a unit at the end of the Gitz turn.

@@BattleshockWargaming May I suggest having the Warscroll cards open when you play a new faction? And any time you use a unit you can have a glance on their profile. That way you can catch those mistakes much better and for the viewers it isn't as frustrating.

Gitz need to go way up in points for some things. Also 4+ wards shouldn't ever be a thing, let alone in such abundance and on so strong already too cheap units. Insanity.
They are silly good, it is fun to play against them and figure out how to counter, because they just do everything. I think we will see some significant points changes to them during the next points update, along with lumineth realm lords, which are just running amok right now.
