The fact that Canelos respect for the people he faces is ideal, I know a lot of fighters go into the fights talking and selling the fights but he don’t have to do all that. Great sportsmanship

I cannot believe people say Rider is a "Cherry pick" he did Beat Daniel Jacobs , and was robbed the decision vs Callum smith. He might not be the best, but he is one of the top fighters in that division. That is why he was a number #1 Contender. At least in the UFC that means something.

Yeah he did, as you said he could’ve given up and it would have been absolutely justified. The knockdown, all that blood and the broken nose, but my man stood up and fought. He wasn’t trying to survive, he was there trading, or at least giving his best trying to. And thats what we love seeing here, a true fighter with an unbreakable heart. As a Mexican-American I would like to say he won my respect in this fight, but he didn’t because he already had it since I first saw him in the callum fight. I’m just glad he’s finally gotten the respect from the boxing community at least on a global scale, that he’s deserved.

Canelo represents himself well man. To think when he was young he had a translator everywhere he went. Now he has improved his English, and thinks before he speaks , it’s like we literally watched him grow up.
Whoever takes over as the the “popular” fighter when Canelo retires , I hope learns from this and builds on it.
The next guy needs to have balance between carrying himself this way and giving us the fights we want. And I know that’s tough because it’s risk involved with giving fan pleasing fights.

Unfortunately as you will learn, in the boxing community once a boxer loses by unanimous decision or don’t knock out a person down like that boxer usually does in many of their fights, than they automatically label them a bum or that they’re washed up.
Ignoring the opponent’s strength and stamina in comparison to those other fighters. So that’s why it’s really annoying to see people downplaying canelo and his achievements. The guy fought a prime boxer that was above his weight class, and still managed to go 12 rounds. You can’t say that for many boxers. Cuz we all know that weight makes a huge difference in boxing, if bivol would’ve fought canelo at 168 like many of canelos past opponents than the outcome would’ve been much more different.
He's in his prime, late 20s early 30s is prime for boxers.
