    Just a heads up Shad
    It's bad for your pump to reduce intake side of your pump not the out put
    Out put aside can be reduced to adjust what are volume flow in your box
    So having that valve on your pump was a good idea

      Pennsylvania Gold and Gems that part has been removed. The guy I bought the dredge off of had that it on there. Thanks for the comment as good advice for everyone!

    A little info for you since you don't know.
    that valve doesn't restrict your pump it is on the outlet of pump.
    It's used for using a blaster hose.

    I thought that to extract gold in rivers it was a different pump. because he did not understand how to prevent the stones from entering the pump. Now I understand that a metal tube with two inlets is adapted, one connected to the pump and the other connected to the extraction of the sand or rock from the river and with an outlet to the sluice, I loved the video now I will be able to extract gold, thank you very much for the video 👍👍👍👍👍

    It really doesn't matter long as you got enough water flow .You could always station the dredge up stream and pump the he water back up stream.

      Use a mini recirculater highbanker in tubes.it takes about 3 gallons of water for most of the day I usually carry about 6 but don't use near that.you could go bigger.use a 1100 gallon per minute electric pump carry a couple 12 volt lawn mower rechargeable batteries.

    • @robertwolfe2971
      @robertwolfe2971 Před 3 lety +1

      That's like if you run as many 5 gal buckets as you can.Bring your own water where their is none.Buy good rechargeable batteries.

    • @whiteperson806
      @whiteperson806 Před 4 lety

      Theres a lil 3 buck computer you could apply that would talk to you. Ive thought about applying the tech so operators would have more info n control. Its possible to have a small screen that lets you see the dredge output just by glancing over like with a rear view car camera. I am Indiana born and raised and I remember gold in creeks that I would go back to find again but isnt dredging in Indiana outlawed or is there a permit? I am going pick n shovel just to see if its still there but hoping I can dredge so I can get the lead and other poison out as well or its no fun.

    how well does that 2.5 inch float the harbor freight pump? i built a homemade 3 inch and i use the same pump and was curious if the 2.5 inch pontoons were enough to float that setup? thanks, Nick

    • @WanderingBuffalos
      @WanderingBuffalos  Před 6 lety

      Nick Wolter...yes. when I built our first dredge I did get the pontoons from the Keene 2.5" dredge. With the semi trash pump there is a lot of weight in the back but once you turn the pump on and have the water flowing it stabilizes and levels out.

    • @nickwolter86
      @nickwolter86 Před 6 lety

      Wandering Buffalos Prospecting is there enough floatation with the 2.5 inch pontoons? Just curious how much of the pontoon were above the surface of the water? Thanks

    • @WanderingBuffalos
      @WanderingBuffalos  Před 6 lety

      Nick Wolter sorry I missed your post. Depends on the size of the dredge box. You would want to make sure that when you have water flow the dredge levels out with the floats but I expect only 2 inches may be above the water line. Keene has a new 3" mini dredge now where those floats are a bit larger than the 2.5" you may want to check out.

    is this legal? can people just go dredge holes in rivers?

    • @WanderingBuffalos
      @WanderingBuffalos  Před 6 lety

      Matthew paladino legal in some states but it must be a claim, a lease through a prospecting group, or have permission of land owners. No dredging in state or national parks. Of course fill in your holes after dredging when on a lease or someone else's property.

    • @WhoWouldWantThisName
      @WhoWouldWantThisName Před 6 lety +1

      Just like they said in the video, make sure you check ALL your laws and regs for any and all agencies involved. The best way to learn this is through a local group operating in the area you want to. There are many local prospecting and mining clubs and private organizations that can be a great resource. Take advantage of that. Those people already know what you can and can't do. They can boil it all down to the particulars that you need to know to do whatever you want to try, and where. Also sometimes the time of year will limit you. There may be a "dredging season", just like hunting or fishing season. Best of luck to you, but don't rely on luck, make your own by doing your research.
